Responsibilities

Full Job Description
Senior Account Executive to join our Employee Benefits team in our New York, NY office on a Hybrid work schedule.

General Purpose

Provides full-service account management to clients in the Employee Benefits Department. Independently manages accounts for all health and welfare plans including medical, dental, short and long term disability, vision, life/AD&D, travel accident, voluntary benefits and long term care, etc.

Core Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary point of contact for complex, high-revenue key accounts, providing consultative guidance and proactive service
  • Collaborate with the financial analytics team to interpret claims and utilization data and present strategic recommendations to clients
  • Conduct in-depth self-insurance feasibility analysis and advise clients on funding strategy, including transitions between fully insured, level-funded, and self-funded arrangements
  • Day to day contact with clients; develop and maintain strong relationships
  • Resolve claims and administrative issues; act as liaison with insurance carriers and advocate for clients
  • Design benefit plans in conjunction with client needs and financial resources
  • Process renewals, including competitive bidding, cost effective plan design alternatives, and employee contribution scenarios
  • Prepare spreadsheets, renewal presentations, summary plan descriptions, and employee communication materials
  • Provide clients with periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, or annually) to assess plan performance and support renewal planning
  • Coordinate timely delivery of Schedule A information for 5500 preparation, as appropriate
  • Maintain and manage client information through HUB's Agency Management System & data standards


Typical Additional Responsibilities

  • Support new business prospecting and participate in finalist presentations, as needed
  • Analyze alternative funding arrangements and model financial impact scenarios for client decision-making
  • Prepare claim utilization analysis on self-funded and large fully insured clients, as appropriate
  • Secure stop-loss coverage for self-insured clients, as appropriate


Knowledge/Skills & Abilities Required

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in brokerage, consulting, insurance company, or corporate benefits environment
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office; highly detail-oriented and able to multi-task
  • NYS LA&H License
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, V and XLOOKUPs, and financial modeling
  • Comprehensive knowledge of self-insured funding arrangements, stop-loss structures, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Experience working with financial analytics teams to develop data-driven client strategies and presentations

The expected salary range for this position is $160,000 to $178,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, FSA, HSA and 401(k) accounts, paid-time-off benefits such as vacation, sick, and personal days, and eligible bonuses, equity and commissions for some positions.
