Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Security/Telecom Superintendent to oversee the installation, coordination, and quality of security and telecommunications systems on a large-scale, mission-critical construction project. This role will serve as the on-site subject matter expert, ensuring that scopes are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate has a strong background in low-voltage systems (security, telecom, AV, and structured cabling) within data centers, advanced manufacturing, or similarly complex environments.
Responsibilities - Lead field supervision of subcontractors performing security, telecom, and low-voltage installations, including access control, CCTV, structured cabling, DAS, and related systems.
- Coordinate with General Contractor, Owner's Rep, and trade partners to align installation activities with project schedule and milestones.
- Ensure compliance with design documents, specifications, and applicable codes/standards.
- Monitor installation progress, conduct daily walkdowns, and identify/resolve field issues.
- Oversee quality assurance and control processes, ensuring testing, inspections, and turnover packages are completed accurately.
- Support commissioning and turnover of security/telecom systems.
- Drive a safety-first culture, ensuring all subcontractors adhere to site safety requirements and protocols.
- Report progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to project leadership.
- Review submittals, RFI responses, and redline drawings to confirm constructability.
- Support integration of telecom/security systems with mechanical, electrical, and IT infrastructure.
Requirements
Qualifications - 8+ years of experience in construction supervision, with at least 5 years focused on security/telecom/low-voltage systems.
- Proven background on mission-critical projects (data centers, semiconductor fabs, hospitals, or large-scale industrial).
- Strong knowledge of structured cabling, access control, CCTV, BMS integrations, and fiber/copper installation practices.
- Ability to read and interpret design drawings, one-lines, and shop drawings.
- Effective communicator and problem-solver, able to coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and QA/QC practices in construction environments.
- Proficiency with project management tools (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Office, etc.).
Preferred - Experience supporting commissioning and system integration.
- BICSI, RCDD, or equivalent certifications.
- Prior experience with hyperscale data center projects.
