Responsibilities

As The Security Specialist - General Lead you will:

  • Provide broad, senior-level security support across administrative, personnel, industrial, physical, operational, and specialized security activities.
  • Serve as a versatile on-site and enterprise resource for interpreting policy, resolving security issues, coordinating classified-environment controls, and supporting inspections, assessments, records, and recurring compliance actions.
  • Work with Government site leadership, contractor personnel, and functional specialists to integrate local mission needs with consistent security practices.
  • Apply sound judgment across multiple disciplines, the Security Specialist General helps maintain secure operations, addresses gaps before they affect mission performance, and ensures that facilities, personnel, information, and activities receive coordinated protection under applicable Government requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Perform cross-functional security support for classified facilities, personnel, information, access, and operational activities.
  • Interpret and apply security policy to resolve routine and complex issues across multiple security disciplines.
  • Coordinate site-level actions with Government leadership, contractor personnel, enterprise stakeholders, and specialized security teams.
  • Support inspections, self-assessments, compliance reviews, corrective actions, and follow-up verification.
  • Maintain security documentation, records, status information, and management reporting required for accountable operations.
  • Assess emerging security concerns and recommend practical protective measures that preserve mission continuity.
  • Assist with incident coordination, access matters, classified material safeguarding, and facility-related security requirements.
  • Integrate local priorities with broader security processes to promote consistent execution across supported locations.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant discipline and 10 years of directly relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline plus 14 years of directly related work experience.
  • Specialized experience with flag-officer level briefings and senior-level interface.
  • Possess be willing to obtain SFPC/PSC Certification within one year of hire.
  • Experience must include support to Special Access Program and Sensitive Compartmented Information environments
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate effectively across Government, contractor, and external stakeholders; prepare briefings, reports, standard operating procedures, and official correspondence; and lead a team in fast paced classified environments.
  • CLEARANCE: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility; must be able to meet any applicable Special Access Program eligibility requirements identified by the Government.
Pay Transparency StatementAMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $132,500.00/Yr. - USD $221,300.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
