DutiesHelp
- Provides authoritative information and assistance to personnel security policies and related issues, and manages all personnel security areas including program access requests, clearances, courier authorizations, badges, identification cards, etc.
- Serves as the organization's Physical Security Officer responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and implementing a physical security program.
- Ensures the government and industry-wide uniform application of the DD Form 254, as appropriate to include processing, reviewing, and validating in accordance with the appropriate vendor contract.
- The incumbent advises on procedures governing classification, declassification, downgrading, and safeguarding of national security information; advises personnel on the proper procedures for marking documents
- and the proper declassification instructions in accordance with applicable regulations.

- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- In accordance with the DoD 8140 policy series, the position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and completing Residential Qualification requirements overall in 12 months.
- This is a drug testing designated position. Individuals tentatively selected will be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drugs prior to appointment or placement and random drug testing after appointment.
- Top Secret/SCI security clearance required.
- Employee must submit to participate in the Defense Security Services Security Professional Education Development program, attaining a minimum of Security Fundamentals Professional Certification within two years of selection to the position.
QualificationsIn order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as:
Experience in running personnel, physical, industrial and information security program within a Data Center.Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
EducationThere is no substitution of education for thequalifying experienceat the GG-13 grade level.Additional information- A three year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service.

- This position has been identified as a Defense Security Position (DSP) in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) Manual 3305.13-M, "DoD Security Accreditation and Certification" and selectees will be required to meet the certification requirements of the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) program. As such, the individual selected for this position must obtain and/or maintain a Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC). Upon appointment to this position selectees will have two years to meet the applicable SPeD certification requirements and will be required to sign a statement acknowledging the SFPC requirements and agreeing to permit the DoD to access and monitor the certification qualifications associated with this position. - This position has been designated as "Mission Essential." Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.
- The Department of Defense (DoD) policy on employment of annuitants issued March 18, 2004 will be used in determining eligibility of annuitants. It applies to former Federal civilian employees receiving a retirement annuity from the Civil Service Retirement and Disability Fund that are hired within the DoD on or after November 24, 2003.
