JOB DESCRIPTION

Where We Need You

Protiviti is looking for a Technology Consulting Manager to join our growing Cybersecurity Program & Strategy - Architecture practice.

What You Can Expect

Enterprise security is being rewritten in real time. AI and agentic systems are reshaping the threat landscape, cloud-native architectures are now the default, and zero trust has moved from concept to expectation. Our clients, across financial services, healthcare, energy, technology, and manufacturing, need architects who can connect identity, data, network, workload, application, and AI into one coherent design.

That's the job. You'll work alongside Fortune 500 leaders to design security architectures that hold up in front of a CISO, a board, and an auditor, and that actually let the business move faster.

As a Manager, you'll partner with our clients to solve complex business problems and provide impactful advice and solutions. You'll develop lasting relationships with client personnel and further these relationships through quality product delivery. You'll foster a network within the business community and serve as an ambassador of Protiviti in the market. You will also be a mentor, trainer, and coach to Consultants and Senior Consultants as you facilitate the successful completion of project work plans.

What Will Help You Be Successful
  • You enjoy designing enterprise security architecture.
  • You are motivated to learn and interested in all things related to AI's impact on security, including the latest trends and developments.
  • You're a self-starter. You don't wait to be told what to learn. When a new framework, technology, or threat shows up, you go find out about it on your own because you find the work genuinely interesting. You see problems and you fix them. You'd rather build a better way than complain about the current one.
  • You're curious about AI and what it means for security and for your own craft. Maybe you've experimented with the tools, maybe you're using them to make your own work faster, maybe you've already started forming views on where this is heading. Wherever you are on that journey, you're actively engaged, not waiting it out.
  • You care about the people on your team. You want to be the reason someone two or three levels below you grows into the next senior leader in this practice.

Do Your Talents Include the Following?
  • 5+ years in security architecture, security engineering, security consulting, or a closely related discipline
  • Hands-on experience designing security solutions in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and across two or more of: identity, data protection, network security, application security
  • Working knowledge of security frameworks: NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and at least one of CRI Profile, CMMC, or an industry-specific regime and the judgment to know when to apply which
  • Strong communicator. You can explain an architecture decision to an engineer, a CISO, and a board without changing the substance
  • Team leadership experience: Coaching, performance development, and oversight of delivery quality
  • What will make you stand out
    • Depth in two or more cloud platforms, or specialist depth in cloud-native security (containers, Kubernetes, serverless)
    • A clear, articulated point of view on AI's impact on cybersecurity with hands-on experimentation to back it up
    • Experience with zero trust rollouts beyond the reference architecture stage
    • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and policy-as-code (Terraform, OPA, etc.) and modern security tooling (Wiz, Prisma, Defender for Cloud, Okta/Entra, ServiceNow GRC, Archer, and the like)
    • Advanced or architecture-focused credentials: CISSP-ISSAP, SABSA, TOGAF, AWS/Azure Security Specialty, GIAC GDSA/GCSA
    • Published research, conference talks (RSA, Black Hat, DEF CON, BSides), open-source contributions, or active community involvement
    • Experience in a regulated industry vertical (financial services, healthcare, energy, public sector)
  • What you'll own
    • Design enterprise security architectures across cloud, identity, data, network (zero trust, SASE/SSE), application, and where relevant OT/IoT domains
    • Help clients navigate AI's impact on security. Secure adoption patterns, governance, and emerging risks from LLMs and agentic systems. You don't need to be the world's foremost AI expert on day one, but you should be genuinely engaged with where this is going.
    • Translate architecture into roadmaps mapped to NIST CSF 2.0, ISO 27001, CRI Profile, CMMC, and industry-specific regimes and defend those roadmaps in front of executive sponsors
    • Run engagement teams of consultants and senior consultants. Coach them, raise their ceiling, and help build the next generation of architects in the practice
    • Build what comes next. Contribute to reference architectures, accelerators, and thought leadership
    • Help win the work. Partner with directors and managing directors on pursuits, proposals, and client strategy
  • What success looks like in year one
    • Lead the security architecture workstream on 2-4 multi-quarter engagements
    • Deliver at least one reference architecture or accelerator that becomes a reusable Protiviti asset
    • Contribute to a published point of view, white paper, or external talk
    • Develop one consultant or senior consultant into a stronger architect
  • What we offer
    • Direct involvement in some of the largest, most complex security transformations happening today
    • Investment in your growth. Conferences, certifications, learning time, and access to senior mentors who want you to succeed
    • A clear path from Manager Senior Manager Associate Director Director Managing Director, with named sponsors at every step
    • Internal mobility across Protiviti's global practice and Robert Half's broader platform
    • A hybrid model built around the work: time on-site with clients and teammates when it matters, and the flexibility to do focused work where you're most effective.

Your Educational and Professional Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., CS, CE, MIS, math, physics, EE, or similar) or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • 5+ years working in professional services or industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications with specific emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Secondary emphasis on Visio and Access.
  • Professional Certification such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CISA or equivalent preferred.
