What You Will Do:As an Accessibility Subject Matter Expert, you will collaborate directly with product, design, and software development to ensure fully accessible products. You are accomplished in auditing systems using available tools to find accessibility issues, recommend solutions for violations found, and have the experience and expertise to expand web accessibility knowledge and practices across the organization. You will socialize, administer and continuously support our accessibility strategy and implementation aspiring to deliver inclusive products for our users. You'll have an influential role in championing accessibility across the organization.
- Guidance in establishing policies, processes and programs to enable Section 508 Compliance
- Maintain broad awareness of compliance requirements, processes and objectives through executive briefings, training programs and internal communication tools
- Develop templates to support compliance, reporting and learning
- Maintain close awareness of Section 508 and WCAG guidance and direction coming from GSA, Usability.gov and other federal organizations
- Collaborate and coordinate with UX/UI design, scrum and testing teams to ensure Section 508 requirements, processes and objectives are met
- Knowledge and experience in establishing policies, processes and programs to enable Section 508 Compliance across the program
- Provide compliance guidance to support technology planning, design, development, testing and implementation activities.
- Interpret and provide guidance on Section 508 and related accessibility laws, regulations and standards.
- Provide guidance and support, leading to improved accessibility decisions when purchasing or deploying tools.
What You Will Need:- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline. Additional Four(4) years will be used in lieu of degree.
- 5+ years of progressive experience with Section 508 compliance and development standards.
- Experience with compliance testing and evaluation of tools and best practices
- Expertise related directly to accessibility standards and guidelines (WCAG 2.0, Section 508, ARIA); including accessibility auditing and testing tools and strategies such as VPAT and WCAG 2.0 validation toolsets.
- Experience with assistive technologies hardware and software on multiple platforms including Windows, Mac, iOS and Android; knowledge of designing and testing methodologies on each platform.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web content management systems.
- Knowledge and experience in establishing policies, processes and programs to enable Section 508 Compliance.
- Skilled in providing guidance in establishing policies, processes and programs to enable Section 508 Compliance.
- Expert knowledge of, and in-depth experience, skill, and experience leading, managing, and working IT policies IAW government process and procedures.
- Expert knowledge of, and in-depth experience, skill and expertise leading, managing, and working SME policy self-inspection checklists.
- Extensive knowledge of, and in-depth experience, skill and expertise working and supporting IT policy development, review, coordination, adjudication, rescissions, and gaps IAW government processes and procedures, etc.
- Knowledge of government policies, processes, and procedures as they relate to government Section 508 and accessibility initiatives.
- Knowledge of programs that ensure individuals with disabilities have access to EIT and meets the compliance requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as amended by the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
- Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred.
What Would Be Nice To Have:- Experience Reading and Interpreting legislation and federal policy documents.
- Exp with Grants.gov
- International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) certificate as a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC)
- Experience as a Disability Program Manager or as an advocate for diversity and inclusion.
- Experience implementing IT Accessibility compliance metrics.
- Experience in Diversity, Inclusion, and/or accessibility barrier assessments.
- Experience applying automation methods and techniques
The annual salary range for this position is $85,000.00-$141,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
