Full Job Description
The opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative immunologist to join the Odyssey team at our laboratories in Boston, MA. Working with project leaders and senior scientists, you will conduct experiments to drive scientific research in the field of immunology. You will work as a member of an integrated project team to develop drugs for the treatment of inflammatory-mediated disease.

You will work in a highly cross-disciplinary, fast-moving environment, and will be drawing upon your experience to help drive drug discovery projects forward. You will possess strong communication skills, be a world-class scientist, have a proven track record of innovation and scientific rigor.

Your primary objectives will be:

  • Develop and conduct biochemical, cellular, and immunology assays in both immortalized and primary cells
  • Formulate tactical and strategic approaches to interrogate scientific problems
  • Develop, implement, and execute experiments
  • Conduct your research in a manner compliant with laboratory requirements, including safety and record keeping
  • Provide interpretation and analysis of results and present findings in cross-functional
    project team meetings
  • Collaborate with and assist other scientists in the group


About you:

  • PhD in Immunology or related field with 4+ years of experience or Master's degree with 8+ years of industry experience will be considered
  • Strong team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills and with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and thrive in a team environment
  • Proven record of innovative thinking to propose and champion new ideas and solve problems
  • A proven record of scientific accomplishment with high-impact publications in peer reviewed journals
  • Extensive experience in mammalian cell culture, cell-based assays, flow cytometry, molecular biology techniques, and use of pharmacological and genetic tools to interrogate biological mechanisms
  • Technical expertise in developing and performing complex assays on primary immune cell types in vitro and ex vivo
  • Additional technical skills:

Hands on skills and experience in immunological, biochemical, and molecular techniques including isolation of primary cells from tissues, quantification of mRNA (qPCR) and protein expression, ELISA, western blotting, immunoprecipitation, multiplex assays, molecular cloning, proximity-based assays, biochemical and cellular screening assays, CRISPr modification of cell lines and primary cell types, and experience with animal models are preferred.

The pay range for this role is:

96,000 - 156,000 USD per year (Boston, MA)
