DescriptionThis role requires an established industry presence, proven business development experience, and the ability to grow the firm's Science and Technology practice in the region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- This position functions as an individual researcher or a consultant having authority in a broad area of specialization or in a narrow but intensely specialized field.
- Establishes and maintains strong local industry connections and clientele, with the ability to win new work and grow the firm's presence in the region.
- Decisions and recommendations are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on the office.
- Assist staff in establishing strategic direction and design philosophy for the office.
- Consults with clients to gain a complete understanding of project goals and client's vision for the project.
- Leads design efforts on retail, commercial and mixed-use projects.
- Has authority over other designers in establishing concepts and directing the design as it progresses through the various phases of the project.
- Provides functional supervision and mentoring to professionals and technicians within architecture discipline.
- Markets the firm's capabilities, within the architectural specialty, to establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing clients.
- Attends trade shows, assists in the preparation of promotional materials and proposals for potential projects.
- Participates in the selection of design teams, and subconsultants, and in the negotiations of fees and subcontractors.
- May supervise Architects and support personnel evaluates performance; assigns and schedules work; establishes project priorities and standards; makes recommendations on hiring, firing and promotions; provides technical support of project work.
- Holds membership in professional associations and participates on company committees.
- Responsible for the financial performance of their projects.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE- Minimum 15 years practicing as a licensed architect.
- AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Photoshop
- Licensed as a Registered Architect (R.A.) preferred
- Experience as lead designer for commercial, retail, office, hotel, mixed-use projects or master-planning projects.
- Ability to accomplish technical assignments of varying complexity.
