ABOUT THE TEAM

Anduril's Automation team is seeking a Controls Engineer to join our team. The Automation team is designing and commissioning automated equipment for high rate production at Arsenal-1, our advanced manufacturing facility in Columbus, OH. In this role, you will own the SCADA layer that production depends on, from PLC integration through Ignition applications and plant floor visibility.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Design, commission, and upgrade control systems for production equipment
  • Write and debug Siemens PLC code with an emphasis on generating code that is organized, structured, documented, maintainable, and reusable for high-volume manufacturing applications
  • Follow internal standards for control systems architectures, regulatory compliance, and safety buyoffs
  • Integrate internal and external FactoryOS software into automation equipment and production lines
  • Build and maintain SCADA applications in Ignition, including tag architecture, Perspective screens, alarming, and historian configuration
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for automation failures, ensuring rapid resolution and long-term reliability
  • Install, configure, and tune servo drives / VFDs
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement initiatives

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment
  • Proficient in Siemens PLC programming (Ladder and Structured Text)
  • Proficient in servo drive and VFD configuration, PID tuning, STO/SS, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of ethernet based communication protocols (ProfiNET, ProfiSAFE, Ethernet IP.)
  • Proficient with electrical component selection and a solid foundation of wire sizing, circuit protection, and heat management in control cabinets.
  • Experience developing SCADA applications in Ignition (Perspective, tag architecture, and historian)
  • Experience with performing Risk Assessments and Controls Safety Design
  • Proficient with pneumatic concepts and design
  • Familiar with NFPA70e electrical safety practices
  • Active U.S. Government SECRET security clearance
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 4+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment
  • Experience with control panel layout, electrical component selection, and cable routing
  • Electrical troubleshooting up to 600VAC.
  • Active U.S. Government TOP SECRET security clearance


US Salary Range

$111,000-$147,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
