Standard Job Description

Provides technical direction for on orbit mission support, plans for critical vehicle malfunctions and recommends alternate operating techniques to continue maximum mission support. Provides failure analysis of the performance of the orbiting satellites via telemetry data. Utilizes system software to accomplish all spacecraft control tasks and recommends improvements. Analyzes and validates software performance. Performs flight length orbit adjust and daily special event studies.
• Utilizes strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, as required
• Performs software maintenance support Linux, AIX, and PC compatible computers, associating switching, network, and communications circuits and equipment
• Provides limited PostgreSQL and SYBASE system administration support for multiple system databases.
• Provides limited UNIX system and account management administration support
• Participates in software version testing and evaluation and provides feedback to the engineering and development test community
• Documents all software problems and follows up with accurate resolutions. Interfaces with Space Force and contractor personnel to ensure proper operation of software and hardware of satellite ground systems
• Provides maintenance and support for on-going systems, including monitoring of system performance and data backups.
• Identifies sources of sofware and hardware problems and determines appropriate solutions.

Basic Qualifications
• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance
• Must have ability to cultivate and develop effective customer relationships and work with senior technical management
• Ability to learn and troubleshoot complex systems
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
• Ability to navigate the Linux file system using common commands
• DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II Certification or greater (CompTIA Security+)
• Strong communication and team motivation skills

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Flexible work arrangements and schedules (e.g., 4x10), 401(k) match, Paid time off, Holidays, Parental Leave, EAP, Flexible Spending Accounts, Education Assistance, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability.
  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
