Job Summary
The SAP JVA (Joint Venture Accounting) Consultant will support the design, implementation, configuration, and optimization of SAP Joint Venture Accounting solutions. The role requires deep expertise in SAP JVA processes and hands-on experience integrating JVA with SAP Finance (FI), Controlling (CO), Asset Accounting (AA), Production and Revenue Accounting (PRA), and SAP S/4HANA. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, accounting teams, joint venture partners, and technical teams to support accurate ownership allocations, cost sharing, revenue distribution, and partner billing processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead SAP JVA requirements gathering, business process analysis, and solution design workshops.
• Configure SAP Joint Venture Accounting solutions to support operated and non-operated joint ventures.
• Design and implement ownership structures, venture master data, equity groups, recovery indicators, and distribution rules.
• Support partner cost allocation, billing, settlement, and revenue distribution processes.
• Develop solutions for cash calls, partner cutback accounting, and joint interest billing.
• Configure and support SAP JVA, SAP FI/CO, SAP Asset Accounting (AA), SAP Production Revenue Accounting (PRA), SAP Revenue Accounting & Reporting, and SAP S/4HANA Finance.
• Design integrations between JVA and upstream and downstream business processes.
• Collaborate with technical teams to develop enhancements, interfaces, workflows, and reports.
• Participate in requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, data migration, training, and go-live support.
• Conduct System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and defect resolution.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close activities.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide ongoing system support.
• Partner with accounting, finance, land, production, and operations teams.
• Work with joint venture partners to support compliance with ownership and billing agreements.
• Document business processes, functional specifications, and training materials.
• Provide guidance on industry best practices and SAP roadmap recommendations.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of SAP functional experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on SAP Joint Venture Accounting (JVA) experience.
• Experience with multiple full lifecycle SAP implementations involving JVA.
• Strong experience with SAP JVA, SAP FI/CO, General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), Cost Center Accounting, Internal Orders, and Profit Centers.
• Experience supporting ownership allocations, partner billing, and cost recovery processes.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and joint venture operations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance transformations.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Utilities, Petrochemicals, or Mining industries.
• Knowledge of SAP Production Revenue Accounting (PRA).
• Experience with SAP Fiori applications.
• Understanding of regulatory and partner reporting requirements.
Certifications
• SAP certification in Finance or S/4HANA.
