SAP IS-U ABAP Developer Manager - Resources/Utilities

The Work:

• Lead the design, build, and test of SAP custom development and extensibility solutions on S/4HANA and BTP, primarily using ABAP Cloud, RAP, CAP, Fiori, and Clean Core methodologies.
• Drive the transition from classic ABAP to Clean Core; guide custom-code remediation and released-API adoption.
• Own technical design for workstreams; conduct code reviews, architecture sign-offs, and design workshops.
• Leverage Generative AI Hub / Joule Studio to infuse development with SAP Business AI where applicable.
• Guide and mentor global delivery teams; communicate effectively across technical levels and geographies.
  

Travel may be required for this role, from 0 to 100% depending on business need and client requirements.

Here's what you need:

• Minimum of 5 years developing SAP applications using S/4HANA ABAP (NetWeaver 7.4/7.5) and ABAP Cloud.
• Minimum 4 years with SAP BTP tools and services (latest Application Development and Automation stack).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with IS-U and related technologies
• Minimum 3 years of data modeling using CDS views, AMDP, OData, or related custom development.
• Minimum 3 years of SAP custom development using Fiori-first, Clean Core, and BTP side-by-side approaches, including RAP.
• Minimum 3 years in a technical leadership role (code reviews, architecture sign-offs, client workshops).
• Prior experience in a Consulting/Advisory role
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years' work experience). If Associate's Degree, must have equivalent minimum 6-year work experience.

Bonus Points If:

• You have hands-on experience delivering SAP Utilities solutions across Customer Service, Meter-to-Cash, Billing, FICA, Device Management, Work Management, Asset Management, or Energy Data Management.
• You have a minimum of 1 year with Cloud Application Programming (CAP).
• You have led or contributed to large-scale SAP Utilities transformations, including SAP IS-U to SAP S/4HANA migrations, CIS modernization programs, or cloud adoption initiatives.
• You have experience with SAP Build Apps, Build Process Automation, Build Work Zone, CAP (Node.js/Java), and event-driven architectures on SAP BTP.
• You have implemented modern SAP engineering practices including gCTS, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, DevOps, and cloud-native development frameworks.
• You have practical experience leveraging SAP Business AI, Joule, Joule Studio, Generative AI Hub, RAG-based solutions, or AI-assisted development accelerators to improve delivery outcomes.
• You possess a strong understanding of Utilities industry business processes, regulatory requirements, customer operations, and digital customer engagement platforms.
• You have experience serving as a technical advisor to client leadership, driving architecture decisions, development governance, and innovation roadmaps.
• You have contributed to SAP accelerators, reusable assets, thought leadership, innovation initiatives, or technical communities
