Job Summary

We are currently seeking a SALT - Income Tax Manager to join our team in any of the following office locations: White Plains, NY;Jericho, NY; New York, NY; Park Ridge, NJ; Chelmsford, MA; Needham, MA; Glastonbury, CT; or Wayne, PA. We will also consider remote candidates based in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Greater Philadelphia market. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing firm.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Advising clients on complex state income and franchise tax matters, including compliance, planning, controversy, and audit-related issues
  • Leading state tax due diligence, restructuring, merger and acquisition, and business expansion projects to identify risks and planning opportunities
  • Evaluating apportionment methodologies, nexus positions, combined reporting requirements, and state-specific filing considerations
  • Researching and interpreting state tax laws, regulations, and administrative guidance to develop practical client solutions
  • Developing technical memoranda, tax opinions, planning strategies, and written recommendations on complex state tax matters
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce state tax liabilities, maximize available credits and incentives, and enhance tax processes
  • Representing clients in examinations, audits, and tax controversy matters before state taxing authorities
  • Reviewing state tax positions and filing approaches to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Monitoring legislative, regulatory, and judicial developments and assessing their potential impact on client operations and tax positions
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships by delivering proactive guidance and exceptional client service
  • Collaborating with partners and professionals across service lines to deliver integrated and value-added tax strategies
  • Supporting practice growth by participating in networking activities, preparing proposals, presenting thought leadership content, and cultivating business development opportunities
  • Managing, coaching, mentoring, and evaluating Seniors and Associates while fostering professional growth and technical development

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Masters degree in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience
  • CPA and/or JD required
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, initiative, and leadership skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CCH Access
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism and consistently demonstrates respect for others


Compensation for this role is determined based on a combination of factors, including but not limited to your relevant experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Salary ranges are provided to offer transparency and may vary depending on final candidate qualifications and local market conditions. Please find compensation information below for candidates residing in the following market(s):

New York ranges are from $130,000 - $160,000

New Jersey ranges are from $130,000 - $160,000

Massachusetts ranges are from $130,000 - $160,000

Connecticut ranges are from $130,000 - $160,000
