Bray is seeking a dynamic and results-driven
Sales Manager / Deputy General Manager to lead profitable growth initiatives, expand market presence, and strengthen customer relationships across key industries including HVAC, chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, and power. This leadership role is responsible for increasing bookings, driving new business development, and supporting the overall success of branch operations through strategic sales execution and effective team leadership.
Working closely with the outside sales team, the successful candidate will identify and pursue new business opportunities while fostering long-term partnerships with existing customers. In addition to sales leadership, this individual will play a key role in supporting project execution, project management, inside sales, operations, and overall financial performance. The position requires a well-rounded leader who can effectively bridge commercial and operational functions to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction, efficient project delivery, and sustainable business growth.
The Sales Manager / Deputy General Manager will assist in overseeing the day-to-day activities of the branch, providing leadership, coaching, and support to sales, project management, inside sales, and operational teams. This individual will be instrumental in driving a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement while contributing to the branch's long-term strategic objectives and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Drive profitable growth by developing and executing strategies to expand Bray's customer base, increase bookings, and penetrate new markets and industries.
- Lead and develop the sales team through coaching, opportunity reviews, customer engagement, and enforcement of CRM best practices to improve pipeline visibility and forecasting accuracy.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including project management, operations, engineering, and inside sales to ensure efficient project execution and exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Support overall branch leadership by assisting with strategic business initiatives, operational performance improvements, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance work environment.
Qualifications & Competencies- Location Requirement: Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Houston, Texas area.
- Industry Background: Experience in automation, control valves, instrumentation, industrial process industries, or related technical markets preferred.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical/business field strongly preferred.
- Leadership Experience: Minimum of three years of progressive leadership experience in sales, operations, project management, or business management.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong financial and business acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, business performance metrics, and operational excellence.
- Communication Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, presentation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- CRM & Office Software: Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook PowerPoint), with a strong focus on pipeline management, reporting, and forecasting accuracy.
- Self-Starter: Results-oriented professional who can work independently, manage competing priorities, and make sound business decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel & Transportation:
- Valid driver's license required with reliable personal transportation.
- Must meet Bray's Driver's Policy requirements, including background, physical, credit check, and proof of insurance.
