About the Team:

The Sales Finance Manager is a key finance business partner to the Sales organization, helping translate commercial strategy, and insights into financial plans, and actions.

As North America evolves to a customer-led operating model, the role will partner closely with Sales and cross-functional teams to support execution of our Route to Consumer, improve commercial performance and ensure resources are deployed effectively.

The role combines strong financial fundamentals with commercial understanding. It uses customer, channel, market, and financial insights to find opportunities and risks. It also improves decision making and supports delivery of our financial commitments. The Sales Finance Manager will also help maintain a strong control environment while maximizing Diageo's finance processes, systems, data and capabilities to improve efficiency and drive growth.

Purpose Of The Role

Partner with Sales teams to drive business performance through strong financial and commercial insights, supporting delivery of financial targets and an effective control environment. Support the execution of commercial and Route to Consumer priorities by translating customer, channel and financial performance into clear opportunities, risks and recommended actions. Provide robust analytics and decision support across planning, forecasting, investment and performance management.

Top Accountabilities:

  • Support delivery of the financial plan across P&L, cash and balance sheet metrics for the assigned area of responsibility, providing clear access to performance, risks and opportunities.
  • Partner with Sales teams to translate commercial priorities into annual operating plans and forecasts, providing financial insight and recommended prioritization.
  • Support execution of Route to Consumer and customer plans through robust financial analysis, scenario modeling and performance tracking.
  • Manage and optimize trade investment, including budget management, systems updates, investment tracking and assessment of returns.
  • Drive the performance management process for the assigned business, identifying gaps to plan and partnering with commercial teams to develop and evaluate corrective actions.
  • Identify commercial opportunities and risks through customer, channel, competitor and financial analysis, translating insights into clear recommendations.
  • Support customer and distributor decision making through analysis of pricing, promotion, mix, investment and profitability.
  • Leverage analytics, forecasting tools and data to improve forecast accuracy and enable faster, higher-quality commercial decisions.
  • Partner across Sales, Revenue Growth Management, Marketing, Supply, Innovation and the expanded Finance Team to ensure decisions incorporate the right commercial and financial perspectives.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and governance, ensuring commercial decisions operate within Diageo's financial and compliance framework.
  • Find opportunities to simplify and improve Finance processes, eliminating low-value activity and growing time spent on commercial insight.


Key Interactions:

  • Business partner with regional Sales leaders and teams, building strong relationships and providing financial and commercial insight to improve performance.
  • Works closely with the Sales Finance Director and broader Finance organization to support delivery of regional priorities and financial commitments.
  • Partners cross-functionally with Revenue Growth Management, Marketing, Supply, Innovation and other teams to support integrated commercial decision making.

Qualifications and Experienced Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant Finance, Commercial Finance, Sales Finance or related experience, preferably within FMCG/CPG or another complex consumer environment.
  • Strong commercial and financial competence with experience in budgeting, forecasting and performance management.
  • Proven ability to translate financial and commercial data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Strong analytical capability and experience using data, forecasting and visualization tools to support decision making.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across Finance, Sales and other functions.
  • Availability to travel up to 10%
