Job Description: The Safety Specialist supports clients and internal teams by delivering foundational safety and risk management services. This role assists in identifying workplace hazards, supporting regulatory compliance efforts, conducting training, and implementing safety programs under the guidance of senior safety professionals. The position focuses on developing technical expertise, strengthening client relationships, and building consultative skills while contributing to the overall safety performance of assigned clients.

Pay Range:
$85,000.00 - $120,000.00 annually. Pay is based on many factors including but not limited to education, skill, experience, training, certifications, and other business needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Understand and actively work toward agency goals and strategies.
- Understand and actively round accounts by offering additional agency services.
- Act as designated Safety Consultant for Fee for Service clients across industries.
- Develop, administer and write customized industry safety and health programs that assist in meeting compliance and create a more productive and safe work environment.
- Perform OSHA-style walk through inspections to ensure OSHA compliance. Investigate accidents, incidents and casual factors with employer management, Risk Management, Human Resources, etc. and initiate corrective action. Recommend and provide additional investigations and procedure changes to improve and correct involved factors.
- Act as chairperson on client safety committees to include facilitation, organization and toolbox talks.
- Monitor accident trends and assist assigned companies in return-to-work activities to directly improve Experience Modification Ratings.
- Implement claims management programs to assist assigned companies in identifying and reducing costs, recognizing and controlling risk exposures and case manage claims.
- Perform safety and OSHA training for all levels of management and employees groups to keep assigned companies' safety training records up to date and current.
- Manage assigned companies' fleet safety programs including Department of Transportation Recordkeeping, Driver Qualification files, Substance Abuse Program, Employee Assistance Program and Hazardous Materials.
- Perform ergonomic evaluations to fit environment to the employee to help reduce repetitive stress and cumulative trauma injuries.
- Maintain knowledge of State and Federal compliance and industry Best Practices.
- Provide other support whether apparent, required or needed.
- Complete additional projects as developed and assigned by your supervisor or management.
- Participate in regional safety-related seminars, events and assigned committees to perpetuate expertise in the agency.
Qualifications:Required- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Management, Risk Management, or related field.
- 5+ years of safety, loss control, or risk management experience.
- Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and client consultations.
- Strong communication, presentation, and training skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally to client locations.
Preferred- CSP, ASP, OHST, ARM, or similar professional credential.
- Commercial insurance, loss control, or workers' compensation experience.
- Experience working with clients in construction, manufacturing, transportation, or general industry.
