What You're Really Building
Parks full of families, active construction sites, and a manufacturing floor all take thoughtful safety and risk management. We're building a dedicated safety and risk function, and you'll lead it.
Your long-term focus is our parks: leading safety standards and inspections, preparing parks for emergencies, managing injury claims, and partnering with our finance team on insurance. Along the way, you'll also build safety programs for our two sister companies, Magma Core Solutions (MCS), which builds our parks, and Active Play Solutions (APS), which designs and manufactures the playgrounds and jump decks inside them, and help their leaders take those programs over. Get it right and our teams go home safe, our guests play safely, and safety becomes something our leaders want to work with, not around.
What You'll Do
You will lead safety and risk management for our parks, and build the safety programs our sister companies will run.
Keep our parks safe
- Oversee our park safety inspections and set safety inspection requirements for play equipment.
- Partner with park leadership teams on guest safety practices and park rules.
- Set standards for safety features, equipment placement, and signage.
- Keep fire-rating documentation and chemical Safety Data Sheets current in every park.
Manage incidents and claims
- Oversee our injury and incident reporting, and investigate significant incidents.
- Manage workers' compensation and liability claims, including our return-to-work program.
- Work with carriers to close claims and control costs.
Prepare for emergencies
- Develop emergency procedures and run a drill program across our parks.
- Lead the response to serious incidents with leadership.
Manage risk as we grow
- Partner with our finance team on insurance renewals and carrier risk reviews.
- Spot new risks as we add parks, markets, and programs, and recommend how to handle them.
- Set insurance requirements for park vendors and service providers.
Track and coach
- Track safety results and report trends to leadership.
- Visit parks to coach leadership teams, as a partner, not an auditor.
Build programs for our sister companies
- Create a construction job site safety program, a manufacturing and warehouse safety program, and a company vehicle and driver safety policy.
- Roll them out with leaders in each company, and help them take over day-to-day management.
- Deliver training, including OSHA outreach, forklift, and CPR and first aid, for construction and manufacturing teams.
Who We're Looking For
This is a leadership seat for a practical, collaborative safety and risk professional. The people who do well here are:
- Collaborative. You solve safety problems alongside leaders and earn buy-in instead of giving orders.
- Practical. You know the difference between real risk and a minor issue, and you bring solutions that fit how the business runs.
- Approachable. Teams call you when something goes wrong because they know you'll help.
- Builders. You like creating new programs, improving existing ones, and keeping them simple enough to stick.
- Great teachers. Your trainings are clear, engaging, and relevant.
- Business-minded. You balance safety with growth, schedules, and the guest experience.
What You'll Need
- 5 or more years of experience in safety, risk management, or EHS, including building or significantly improving safety programs.
- Working knowledge of OSHA requirements for construction and general industry, applied practically.
- Experience managing workers' compensation and liability claims.
- Trainer certifications for OSHA outreach, forklift, and CPR and first aid, or willingness to obtain them after hire.
- Strong training and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel regularly to parks and construction sites.
- Ability to pass a background check.
Nice to have
- Experience with family entertainment, attractions, hospitality, or other guest-facing, multi-location businesses.
- Experience across more than one environment, such as construction, manufacturing, or hospitality.
- Experience with fire code requirements, emergency preparedness, or inspection programs.
- Experience working with insurance carriers on risk reviews and renewals.
- Safety or risk credentials such as ASP, CSP, CHST, or ARM.
A full job description will be shared and walked through with you during the process, so you have the complete picture before moving forward.
