- Lead new-hire and subcontractor safety orientations, toolbox talks, and required safety training.
- Track employee safety certifications, training requirements, and renewal dates.
- Review subcontractor safety qualifications and documentation before work begins, monitor jobsite compliance, and work with project teams to correct unsafe conditions or practices.
- Investigate injuries, incidents, near misses, property damage, and safety concerns; identify root causes and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Coordinate incident reporting and follow-up with Human Resources, leadership, insurance representatives, and third-party safety partners.
- Serve as the company's primary contact during Cal/OSHA inspections and coordinate responses to citations, corrective actions, and regulatory requests.
- Maintain OSHA logs, inspection reports, training records, incident documentation, and other required safety records.
- Track safety trends and provide regular updates and recommendations to leadership.
- Work with field leadership and Human Resources to address repeated safety violations and ensure safety expectations are consistently enforced.
- Stay current on regulatory changes and construction-industry safety practices.
- Exercise stop-work authority when an imminent hazard or serious safety concern is identified.
