Safety Manager in
Town ofBurns, NY to join our team.
Duties and Responsibilities:*This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.
- Serve as the project's full-time, dedicated on-site Safety/EHSS Manager, providing leadership and oversight of the Project Health, Safety and Security Program in accordance with Herzog, AES, regulatory, permit, and project-specific requirements.
- Implement, maintain, and continuously improve the project Health, Safety and Security Plan, including policies, procedures, training, emergency preparedness, incident management, documentation, and compliance tracking.
- Conduct routine field inspections, site walks, safety observations, and leadership engagements; identify existing and predictable hazards and ensure prompt corrective action.
- Lead and review JHAs/JSAs, pre-task planning, and risk assessments, with particular attention to high-risk activities and changing work conditions.
- Exercise Competent Person and Stop Work authority, including requiring corrective action and addressing serious or repeated violations in accordance with project requirements.
- Lead and support employee and supervisor orientation, training, safety meetings, coaching, and mentoring, ensuring safety information is effectively communicated to the workforce
- Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog's Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position.
- Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.

Qualifications:- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of qualifying power-generation construction EHSS experience and/or power-plant construction, oil and gas, or chemical EHSS experience, consistent with the AES EHSS Manager requirement reflected in the current position description.
- Demonstrated construction safety-management experience with the ability to independently lead a large, multi-employer project safety program.
- Working knowledge of OSHA construction standards and applicable federal, state, local, owner, contractual, and project-specific safety requirements.
- Demonstrated experience with JHAs/JSAs, risk assessments, field inspections, incident investigations, training, corrective actions, emergency preparedness, and subcontractor oversight.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, mentoring, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across multiple levels of the project organization.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a safety-related discipline; recognized professional safety credential; OSHA 30-Hour Construction and advanced OSHA 510 training; First Aid/CPR/AED certification; and utility-scale solar, renewable-energy, electrical, heavy-civil, or power-generation construction experience
Pre-Employment Requirements:- Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and endorsements as required per position.
- Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position.
- Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.

- Able to work in conditions with loud noise; work on/around heavy/moving machinery.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet).
- Must successfully pass color/vision examinations as required by the position.
