As a Safety Engineer at Micron Technology, you will focus on the prevention of unplanned events that have the potential to harm people, property, or the environment at a large semiconductor manufacturing location. In addition, you will continuously evaluate operations to ensure compliance with applicable laws. You will perform technical evaluations of work areas, equipment and operational procedures to identify hazards and ensure proper safety controls remain in place. You will work with a versatile group of managers, supervisors, employees, engineers and technicians to continuously improve safety programs that allow Micron to achieve extraordinary safety performance.
As a Safety Engineer, you will play a key role in preventing events that could impact people, property, or the environment. You will partner with engineers, technicians, leaders, and contractors to identify risks, strengthen safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities:- Support tool installation, construction, and manufacturing activities to ensure EHS requirements and safety standards are effectively implemented
- Review facility, system, and operational designs to integrate safety-by-design best known methods and verify regulatory compliance
- Conduct safety audits, incident investigations, inspections, and emergency response activities, including participation in an on-call rotation
- Develop and deliver safety training, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen the site Safety Management System
- Develop AI-enabled workflows and leverage data analytics tools to identify trends, predict risks, and improve EHS program effectiveness
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Safety, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of professional experience in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or a related EHS field
- Experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, hazard assessments, and regulatory compliance activities
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple functions within a complex operational environment
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills with the ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications:- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
- Experience leading small to medium-sized projects and coordinating multi-functional teams
- Experience supporting semiconductor manufacturing, industrial operations, or large-scale construction projects
- Experience developing AI-enabled workflows, automation solutions, or productivity tools within EHS programs
- Experience using AI tools to analyze safety data, identify trends, and support proactive risk reduction strategies
