RequirementsKey Responsibilities- Supervision of the operation of assigned ROV team & system;
- Ensure all tasks defined in the work scope are performed according to internal and external requirements;
- Adhere to the DOF Personal Record of Competence;
- Ensure that the proper internal and external Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment requirements are implemented during tasks;
- Familiarization and debriefing sessions prior to mobilization and demobilization (if applicable.);
- Participate, as required, in projects and complete tasks under separate functional description (developed for the task.);
- Familiarize and adhere to all guidance and instructions that are outlined in the IMS (Information Management System.);
- Operate and maintain the ROV system in accordance with DOF procedures and standards.
- Ensure safe ROV operations in accordance with company procedures & client requirements.
- Manage operational risks utilizing risk assessment, toolbox talk and the stop the job philosophy
- Maintain operational, technical and safety documentation; understand contractual requirements; and ensure reports are completed on time.
- Liaise effectively with client representatives and shore-based management personnel.
- Coach personnel in subsea operations and maintenance, assess their skills, and help ensure they are competent to perform assigned duties.
- Lead and manage the ROV team during emergencies, coordinate contingency procedures, and ensure team members understand their roles.
Key Competencies (knowledge, training/education, behaviours):- 5-7 years previous experience with work class ROV systems as a Senior Pilot Technician;
- Post-secondary education* with a primary focus in:
- ROV (Remote Operated Vehicles)
- Electrical
- Engineering Technology
- Mechanic
*Equivalent/related experience or training will be considered
- Working knowledge of Technical Specifications and Standards within the Oil and Gas Industry;
- Schilling/XLX experience considered an asset;
- Level of technical knowledge in computer and electronic interfacing;
- Experience with technical testing and troubleshooting;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Word/Excel/PowerPoint;
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure;
- Excellent communicator including language proficiency (reading/writing);
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently.
