Position Summary

 

Tacten is seeking professional, energetic, and forward-thinking Rope Access Journeyperson Millwrights to support the Marine Loading Arms (MLAs) project at the LNG site, located in Kitimat, BC.

Position Details:

  • Start Date: September 7, 2026
  • Site/Location: LNG in Kitimat, BC. Relocation is required!
  • Shift/Hours: 40 hrs./week and possible overtime
  • Hourly Rate $59.50/hr. depending on certifications
  • Relocation: We are able to offer up to 3 months of temporary housing to assist with your relocation transition if required.
Responsibilities
  • Assemble, install, and align industrial equipment and machinery, including marine loading arms, pumps, and valves, following technical specifications and safety standards.
  • Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and troubleshoot mechanical equipment on marine loading systems to minimize downtime and ensure safe operations, changing out loading arms seals.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments to install, adjust, and maintain equipment accurately, including rotating equipment, couplings, and hydraulic systems.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, manuals, and schematics for both industrial and marine loading equipment to ensure proper assembly and operation.
  • Marine System Operations Support including assisting with commissioning, testing, and operational readiness of marine loading systems, including pumps, valves, and piping assemblies.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout, confined space, PPE usage, and site-specific marine safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection reports, and equipment performance records for both onshore and marine systems.
Requirements
  • Journeyman Millwright certification or equivalent experience.
  • IRATA Level 1 (Rope Access) certification required or willingness to obtain. 
  • Current safety certifications as required in BC.
  • Hands-on mechanical and industrial experience, with marine loading or bulk liquid transfer systems preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and rotating equipment.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in industrial and marine environments.

Additional Skills:

  • Welding or fabrication experience.
  • Experience with pumps, valves, and mechanical seals used in marine loading operations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in both onshore and marine environments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in remote or dockside locations.
  • Proficiency/experience in trades/industrial settings
  • Familiarity with LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) operations
