Full Job Description
Robotics Product Engineer
Department: Engineering
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: San Francisco
The Role
Robotics teams want to run the newest models on their robots. You'll build the product that makes that work.
You'll spend real time with our robotics customers, watch how they work, and turn what you see into software: a fix today, a feature next week, a platform capability when the same problem keeps showing up. One day that's debugging a robot-to-cloud connection. The next it's tightening a policy deployment workflow, or building a simulation view in the browser so a customer can see what their robot is about to do.
We want someone who can follow a problem all the way through the stack, and who cares as much about what the user sees as about how it's built.
This role is in person at our SF office.
What You'll Do
Work directly with customers. Sit with their workflows, dig into failures, and figure out what would make their week easier.
Turn open-ended asks into clear requirements, then decide what's a quick fix, what's a feature, and what belongs in the platform.
Ship across the web UI, backend services, APIs and infrastructure.
Trace problems across robot software, networking, cloud services and model inference, using logs, measurements and reproducible tests.
Build simulation and visualization tools that let customers set up environments, inspect robot behavior and test policies.
Keep up with robotics research and tooling, try what looks useful, and bring it into the product when it earns a place.
Who You Are
You've shipped production software from first idea to people actually using it.
Hands-on robotics experience. Deploying learned models or policies on physical robots is a big plus.
You build across the stack, from front-end interfaces to backend services and infra.
Product judgment: you talk to users, work out what they actually need, and decide what to build.
You debug across application, networking and infrastructure boundaries without assuming the bug lives in one place.
You read robotics research and can turn a good idea into working software.
Bonus points
Python, C++, Rust, TypeScript/React or Go.
ROS 2, MuJoCo or Isaac Sim.
Interactive 3D, browser graphics or simulation interfaces.
Policy serving, teleoperation, robotics datasets or evaluation workflows.
Cloud infra, containers, WebRTC and real-time streaming.
You don't need all of these. We care most about what you've built, how you handle unfamiliar problems, and whether you can turn a customer's need into software.
