Position Summary
The Nurse Manager is accountable for the leadership, management, and advancement of clinical operations within the Inpatient General Surgery Unit. This leader will oversee daily operations, staff development, quality and patient safety initiatives, resource management, and regulatory compliance while ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care.
The successful candidate will inspire and empower nursing staff, lead through change, promote evidence-based practice, and create an environment where colleagues feel valued, supported, and engaged.

What We're Looking For
We're seeking an experienced nurse leader who can build an engaged, high-performing team while driving quality, accountability, and exceptional patient outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience leading a nursing unit or clinical team
Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills
A track record of improving quality, safety, and operational performance
Success developing and mentoring staff
The ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines
A commitment to patient-centered care, professional growth, and continuous improvement
Experience leading teams through change and transformation
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut or eligibility to obtain
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Previous nursing leadership or management experience required
Preferred Qualifications
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or related healthcare leadership degree
Progressive leadership experience in an acute care hospital setting
Experience in surgical services, medical-surgical nursing, or inpatient surgical care
