About Med/Surg at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital

The Registered Nurse utilizes nursing theory, clinical expertise, technical skills, and effective communication to provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients and their families.

The RN assesses patient needs, develops and implements individualized plans of care, provides direct patient care, evaluates patient outcomes, and collaborates with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team throughout the patient's hospitalization.

Working in a Critical Access Hospital provides new graduate nurses with an opportunity to develop a diverse clinical foundation. RNs care for patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions and gain experience with patients across different age groups and levels of acuity.

As a Med/Surg RN, you will develop skills in:
  • Comprehensive patient assessment
  • Medication administration and clinical interventions
  • Care planning and implementation
  • Recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition
  • Patient and family education
  • Discharge planning and coordination of care
  • Collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members

Compensation

New Graduate RN Hire Rate: $41.93/hour

Additional compensation opportunities may be available based on applicable experience and qualifications.
