Job Description
EisnerAmper is seeking a Risk Management Manager to serve as the risk management leader for our Financial Advisory Services (FAS) practice. FAS provides restructuring, bankruptcy, complex litigation, and other financial advisory services to clients, including Assignments for the Benefit of Creditors (ABC). In this role, you will partner closely with FAS leadership and engagement teams to identify and address professional, regulatory, and operational risks early, while developing practical controls, workflows, and training that support engagements from intake through case closure. You will work collaboratively with the Office of General Counsel, firmwide risk management, and outside counsel, when appropriate, on matters requiring legal review and approval. Reporting to the FAS Director of Operations, this role offers the opportunity to shape risk management across a complex, fast-paced practice while helping protect both the firm and its clients without slowing down the delivery of high-quality client service.
What You Will Be Responsible For:
Contract Preparation & Negotiation
Draft, review, and negotiate NDAs, engagement letters, and client agreements across restructuring, bankruptcy, complex litigation, and other FAS engagements
Prepare and negotiate vendor, subcontractor, and consulting agreements needed to support ABC administration and other FAS engagement delivery
Draft and negotiate employment and contractor agreements, including agreements for the hiring and administration of international personnel
Risk Management & Compliance
Provide advice and counsel to FAS engagement teams on routine risk issues arising across restructuring, bankruptcy, complex litigation, and other financial advisory engagements
Support engagement teams in performing assignee and fiduciary duties on ABC engagements, including creditor notice, claims administration, bonding requirements, and asset sale or liquidation processes, reviewing them for consistency with firm policy and the governing state ABC statute
Support engagement teams on bankruptcy engagements, including retention applications, fee examiner and fee application requirements, and compliance with bankruptcy court rules and U.S. Trustee guidelines
Advise engagement teams on independence, conflicts, and disclosure obligations arising on complex litigation and dispute advisory engagements, including matters involving expert testimony
Identify, assess, and help remediate operational, contractual, and regulatory risk exposure across FAS engagements, escalating higher-severity items to GCO
Develop and manage the Enterprise Risk Management program for the ABC entities and the broader FAS practice
Coordinate with insurance brokers/carriers on coverage questions and claims, looping in GCO on matters affecting firm-wide policies
Oversee litigation matters against entities in the ABC portfolio and other FAS-related matters
Supervise client proposal and client acceptance processes to ensure compliance with independence and conflict of interest policies across FAS engagementsTrack the statutes, case law, bankruptcy rules, and litigation-related professional standards across the jurisdictions where the practice operates, since requirements vary meaningfully by jurisdiction and engagement type, and translate those differences into practical guidance and jurisdiction-specific checklists for engagement teams
Monitor engagements for developing risk issues, such as scope changes, fee disputes, adverse party challenges, or confidentiality concerns, and escalate matters to practice and firm leadership as warranted
Track broader regulatory and professional standards developments affecting restructuring, bankruptcy, complex litigation, and other financial advisory practice areas, and translate them into practical guidance for engagement teams
Partner with information security and technology teams to evaluate risk related to the use of new tools and data-sharing practices on FAS engagements, including appropriate controls around confidential and privileged information
Develop and deliver risk management training for FAS professionals, covering topics such as independence, conflicts checks, documentation standards, engagement letter requirements, and expert-witness and testimony protocols
Maintain the practice's risk register and produce periodic reporting for FAS and firm leadership summarizing open risk items, trends, and remediation status
Support incident response and root-cause review when risk or quality issues arise on an engagement and help translate lessons learned into updated policies or training
Serve as a resource to engagement teams on engagement letters, scope changes, and other contract matters, working with the Office of General Counsel on non-standard terms
HR Operations Support
Partner with Human Resources on policy development, employee relations issues, and compliance matters related to the entities in the ABC portfolio and the broader FAS practice
