Position Description

The Group is seeking creative and enthusiastic candidates to develop, test, integrate, and demonstrate novel RF system approaches in lab, vehicle, and flight environments. Staff in this Position typically assume, or quickly grow into, roles where they are leading one or more aspects of RF system design and/or efforts in system integration & verification.

Day to Day Activities May Include:

  • Design and test of RF front-ends for communication and sensing prototypes
  • Test documentation and planning
  • Lab environment setup and configuration
  • Participation in field experimentation, lab and field data collection, and post-experiment analysis.


Minimum Qualifications

  • M.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience with common RF and digital test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, etc...)
  • Exposure to and/or coursework in software development and scripting (e.g. Python, Matlab, etc...)
  • Exposure to test planning and execution of field experiments
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and set priorities
  • Strong problem-solving skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the design, prototyping, and testing of RF front-ends for communications and sensing systems, including experience in integrating components such as power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers, and filters to engineer low-distortion transmitters and high-sensitivity receivers
  • Experience in the use of software defined radios for RF recording and prototyping
  • Experience with PCB layout and mixed signal design
  • Experience in system design using RF System-on-Chip technology
  • Experience in test planning and overseeing execution of field experiments


This position will include a mixture of on-site, travel, and remote work as needed to support integration and field events.

Recent Graduate Hiring Range: $116,400-$140,000

Experienced Hiring Range: $116,400-$182,200
