Please review the job details below.Job Description SummaryThe RF Communication Systems Engineer supports the CSE team in architecture design, requirements flowdown, specification development, system-level testing and analysis of satellite communications system. The work includes proposal efforts, front end design, detailed analyses and development, and integration and testing throughout the program lifecycle.
Responsibilities - Supports the development of definition of RF hardware (Travelling Wave Tube Amplifiers, Multiplexers, Receivers, etc.) requirements
- Participates in design trades, Engineering Review boards, and provides technical inputs as assigned
- Participates in the design, development, and analysis of satellite communications system requirements and systems specifications for a defined phase of a subsystem
- Participates in the development of system test requirements and procedures, and performs routine system test analysis
- Prepares standard design documentation for review by more senior engineers
- Supports system level test activities
- Assists in the development and analysis of system test requirements and systems specifications for the RF payload subsystem
- Performs system integration trade studies and analysis under the direction of more senior engineers
- Identifies technical problems and recommends solutions
- Hands on involvement in the testing and troubleshooting of the RF payload during spacecraft integration and test
- Evaluates RF payload test data vs. design requirements and, based on the results, recommends further actions
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time and the ability to work off shifts and overtime as needed
Required Education, Experience & Technical Competencies:
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- B.S. degree or the equivalent in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Up to one year work experience desirable
- Understanding of mathematics and physics as they relate to electrical systems and components
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office
- Some experience with C++, VBA, or Python desirable

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
• The base pay for this position within California is: $77,000.00 - $128,000.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
