As our Revenue Operations Manager, you'll sit at the heart of Novanta's Precision Manufacturing business, partnering across Finance, Sales, Planning, Supply Chain, and Operations to drive forecast accuracy, revenue visibility, and operational excellence. In this highly visible role, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, ensuring teams are aligned around a single view of revenue and margin performance while proactively identifying risks and opportunities that influence strategic decision-making.
Beyond forecasting and analytics, you'll play a critical role in ensuring customer orders are accurately structured, executed, documented, and closed, enabling clean financial reporting and a seamless month-end close. You'll help align revenue priorities across functions, strengthen business processes, and provide the commercial and financial insight needed to surface and address potential issues before they become challenges. Novanta's Precision Manufacturing business focuses on advanced laser and beam-steering technologies that help OEM customers build highly precise manufacturing systems. The business develops and manufactures laser sources, laser beam steering/scanning systems, and integrated laser subsystems used in applications such as additive manufacturing (3D printing), semiconductor processing, micromachining, advanced packaging, material converting, and industrial automation.
Key Responsibilities
Own the revenue and margin forecasting process, delivering a single, trusted forecast that aligns Sales, Finance, Planning, and Operations.
Analyze business performance, identify revenue and margin risks and opportunities, and provide actionable insights to support key decisions.
Drive forecast accuracy through close partnership with SIOP, Planning, Supply Chain, and commercial teams, ensuring alignment between demand, supply, and financial expectations.
Lead revenue and margin planning activities, including AOP, long-range planning, pricing analysis, and key performance reporting.
Ensure the integrity of the Order-to-Cash process, proactively managing order, credit, customer, and collection-related risks that could impact revenue realization.
Support month-end and quarter-end close processes by partnering with Accounting and Finance to ensure accurate revenue and margin reporting.
Build strong cross-functional relationships across Finance, Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Accounting to improve business performance and operational execution.
Develop and enhance forecasting, reporting, and analytics capabilities across multiple sites and ERP systems to optimize revenue, margin, and customer delivery performance
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field required; MBA preferred.
5+ years of experience in Revenue Operations, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Order Management, Sales Operations, or a related commercial-finance role within a manufacturing, industrial, or product-based environment.
Experience supporting revenue forecasting, financial analysis, business planning, and performance reporting, including revenue and margin analysis.
Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP and financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, or HFM preferred.
Knowledge of revenue recognition principles, internal controls, and compliance frameworks is preferred.
The salary for this role will range from $121,000 to $180,000 annually based on full-time employment. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to location, relevant skills, training, experience, education, etc.
Certain roles may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives. Incentives could be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
