Full Job Description
Careington is seeking a strategic, hands-on Leader of of Revenue Operations to lead and optimize operational excellence across its wholesale and direct-to-consumer billing ecosystems. Reporting to the SVP of Revenue Operations, this executive will oversee a 25+ person team managing billing, accounts receivable, commissions, and client-facing operations. This role will play a pivotal role in aligning operational strategies with enterprise goals, driving system improvements, and leading transformational initiatives to support the company's rapid growth trajectory.

In addition to overseeing internal revenue operations, this role will serve as a key external interface with senior leadership at Careington's top-tier clients, including Aetna, CVS, MetLife, and others. The leader will participate in pre-sales discussions, lead quarterly business reviews, and act as an operational liaison to ensure service delivery aligns with client expectations. This is a highly visible position that combines technical and operational expertise with strong relationship management and client-facing acumen.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 10 or more years of progressive experience in revenue operations, business operations, or enterprise system leadership within service-driven organizations.
  • 5 or more years in a senior leadership role with a demonstrated ability to manage teams and lead operational transformation.
  • Strong experience working with high-volume transaction environments and a mix of individual and group billing models.
  • Hands-on experience leading or supporting systems implementation, upgrades, or transformations.
  • Deep understanding of CRM, ERP, and/or proprietary platforms and their role in enabling scalable operational processes.
  • Direct experience partnering with IT to implement or optimize systems (ERP, CRM, or proprietary platforms).
  • Experience in client-facing roles involving pre-sale support, onboarding, and strategic relationship management.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional initiatives and process innovation.
  • Background in high-growth environments or organizations scaling through transformation preferred.
  • Background in healthcare revenue cycle is a plus but not required.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree such as an MBA preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with a strong command of operational reporting and KPI design.
  • Deep understanding of service operations, financial process controls, and compliance standards.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and change management skills.
  • Proven leadership presence with the ability to engage across all levels of the organization and externally with clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership & Operational Excellence - Lead day-to-day execution and strategic oversight across billing, AR, commissions, and operational support. Align revenue operations with enterprise goals to support scalability, compliance, and efficiency.

  • Direct operational workflows across individual and group billing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Partner with the SVP of Operations on enterprise planning, operational strategy, and resource alignment.
  • Identify and implement improvements to streamline processes, enhance controls, and reduce friction.
  • Translate strategic goals into executable, measurable operational plans.


Client Engagement & Relationship Management - Serve as a key operational liaison to top-tier clients. Participate in solutioning, onboarding, and relationship management to ensure service quality and strengthen long-term partnerships.

  • Represent Revenue Operations in pre-sale discussions and onboarding for large enterprise clients.
  • Lead operational portions of quarterly business reviews with partners such as Aetna, CVS, and MetLife.
  • Resolve complex client issues and provide strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment between operational execution and client-specific service expectations.


Systems & Process Innovation - Define, improve, and scale core operational processes and systems. Partner with IT to modernize platforms and prepare for system transformation.

  • Translate operational needs into system requirements and lead implementation efforts.
  • Evaluate CRM, ERP, and proprietary platforms for scalability and integration.
  • Drive automation and process reengineering to improve efficiency and data flow.
  • Support enterprise readiness for potential platform replacement or enhancement.


Performance Management & Reporting - Establish operational KPIs and quality metrics. Leverage data to improve visibility, compliance, and continuous improvement across functions.

  • Build and maintain dashboards to track billing performance, service levels, and audit readiness.
  • Lead operational response for SSAE/SOC audits and ensure a strong control environment.
  • Identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions based on analytics.
  • Report regularly on trends, risk indicators, and operational health.


Talent Development & Leadership - Build and lead a high-performing team with clear roles, structured management layers, and defined development pathways.

  • Manage a 25+ person team including directors, managers, and frontline staff.
  • Strengthen frontline leadership capabilities and define new management roles as needed.
  • Promote a culture of performance, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Coach and mentor talent to drive accountability and operational ownership.


Change Management & Growth Enablement - Lead change efforts across systems, structures, and teams to support future-state operations and enterprise growth.

  • Develop and execute plans to support organic growth and M&A integration.
  • Guide the team through evolving technology, process, and service models.
  • Align revenue operations with broader strategic initiatives and transformation efforts.
