Job Title: Retail Planning Manager

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Retail Planning Manager is a strategic leader within Trulieve Retail Operations, responsible for translating sales, inventory, customer, and market data into forward-looking plans that drive revenue growth, gross margin performance, and inventory productivity. Reporting to the Director of Retail Planning, this role leads the retail planning cadence, owns critical business reporting and analysis, and partners across Retail Operations, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, and other functions to align bottom-up plans with enterprise objectives. The Retail Planning Manager also leads and develops the Retail Planning team, establishes consistent planning standards, and drives accountability for forecast quality, business insights, and execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead the development and management of store-, market-, and category-level sales, unit, inventory, and KPI plans, ensuring alignment with financial targets and business priorities.
• Own POD plan tracking, including plan attainment, performance gaps, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions across markets and product categories.
• Own order flow and carry-over analysis to improve visibility into demand timing, inventory movement, future-period exposure, and execution against plan.
• Monitor and communicate gross margin percentage (GM%) and average order total (AOT) trends, identifying key drivers and actions to improve performance.
• Lead year-over-year comparisons across revenue, units, transactions, customers, AOT, UPT, GM%, and inventory performance to explain changes and inform future plans.
• Establish and manage the weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual retail planning cadence, including performance reviews, forecast updates, and leadership reporting.
• Lead recurring business reviews by identifying trends, risks, and opportunities and translating complex analysis into clear, commercially relevant recommendations.
• Develop scenario models and sensitivity analyses that quantify the effects of pricing, promotions, assortment, customer behavior, inventory availability, order flow, and store growth.
• Drive inventory productivity through demand planning, replenishment analysis, assortment evaluation, and identification of out-of-stock, overstock, aging, and carry-over risks.
• Partner with Retail Operations, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, and other stakeholders to align forecasts, inventory strategies, promotional plans, and business priorities.
• Own planning KPIs and reporting standards, including POD plan attainment, forecast accuracy, sales-to-plan performance, inventory accuracy, weeks of supply, in-stock rates, promotional performance, data quality, and compliance adherence.
• Create executive-ready weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting that clearly communicates business performance, financial implications, decisions required, and recommended actions.
• Support annual budgeting and long-range planning by developing data-driven revenue, unit, margin, inventory, customer, and operational assumptions.
• Identify and implement improvements to planning processes, reporting tools, data governance, and analytical workflows to increase speed, accuracy, consistency, and scalability.
• Monitor cannabis regulations, competitive activity, market dynamics, and territory-specific developments and incorporate relevant insights into plans and recommendations.
• Lead, coach, and develop Retail Planning Analysts and Senior Retail Planning Analysts, including workload prioritization, analytical review, performance feedback, and career development.
• Lead high-priority planning initiatives and independently manage deliverables, timelines, stakeholder communication, and follow-through.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Retail Management, Supply Chain, Analytics, or a related field preferred.
• Six or more years of progressive experience in retail planning, merchandise planning, inventory management, forecasting, financial analysis, or a related analytical discipline; cannabis experience preferred.
• Two or more years of direct leadership, team management, or demonstrated coaching and project leadership experience preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data modeling, scenario analysis, and large-data-set management; experience with retail planning and business intelligence tools preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage forecasts, evaluate performance against plan, diagnose business drivers, and convert analysis into actionable recommendations.
• Strong financial and retail acumen, including an understanding of revenue, units, transactions, customers, pricing, GM%, AOT, UPT, inventory productivity, and promotional performance.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with rigorous attention to detail, data accuracy, and reporting consistency.
• Executive-ready written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex findings, present recommendations, and influence decisions across multiple functions.
• Proven ability to lead teams and cross-functional initiatives, balance competing priorities, meet deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
• Collaborative and proactive leadership style, with the ability to coach others, set clear expectations, challenge assumptions constructively, and drive accountability.
• Knowledge of state cannabis compliance regulations and an understanding of cannabis retail dynamics and compliance requirements.
• Must possess a valid driver license, be at least 21 years of age, and be able to pass Level 1 and Level 2 background checks.
• Ability to work 45+ hours weekly with flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and travel up to 20% of the work schedule as business needs require.

• Occasionally move throughout the entire facility, including tight spaces.
• Accurately communicate and exchange sensitive information and ideas with others, including members of the public; observe and inspect details at varying ranges; and operate computing devices.
• Occasionally manipulate objects of varying sizes and weights, push or pull objects up to 25 pounds, lift or carry objects up to 25 pounds, ascend or descend a stool, ladder, or steps, and position oneself or objects at floor level.
• Maintain visual and auditory acuity, with or without aids, to perform all functions of the position.
• Frequently remain in a seated position.
