This role offers a mix of time in the branch and time in the field, developing both patient-facing clinical skills and strong workflow independence.
You'll provide essential respiratory care, equipment setup, patient education, and clinical support, playing a key role in ensuring safe transitions from hospital to home.
Key highlights- Hours: 8:30 AM-5 PM or 9 AM-5:30 PM; flexible 4x10 schedule available.
- On-site role: 50% in the office, 50% on the road.
- Driving distance: Up to 1.5 hours one way; covers Albany and Kingsport.
Salary range- $35-$45 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education and location
On-Call transparency- Rotation frequency: Every 2 weeks per month.
- Providing phone support, answering questions, and troubleshooting equipment issues.
What you'll do- Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow-ups
- Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs
- Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams
- Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop
- Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation
- Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition
- Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs
- Performs other duties as required
What we look for- LPN with Respiratory Care experience OR Certified/Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active NY RT license.
- Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 - 50 lbs.
- Valid driver's license
- Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation
Education- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy or LPN program
Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations- Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy
- Hold a current CPR Certification
- Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
