Project Manager to join our expanding and innovative Residential Development Practice Area!
This role is a unique opportunity, especially given the diverse project portfolio and growth potential within the Charlotte office. The role would be ideal for someone who enjoys working across multiple sectors-residential, commercial, and industrial-and wants to be involved in the broader aspects of land development. Additionally, the opportunity to mentor and help grow the team adds a valuable leadership component to the role. In sum, this role is a great fit for someone who is both technically skilled and interested in team development.
This is a
hybrid role working out of our Charlotte, NC office, where employees and supervisors collaborate to establish an in- and out-of-office schedule that "works" for all involved.
Responsibilities- Direct projects by managing and delegating tasks, forecasting and proactively addressing workload, financial performance, resource and staffing needs while collaborating with clients and teammates throughout the organization.
- Oversee and participate in the cultivation of existing client relationships including periodic client meetings, proposal and budget development, and obtaining feedback in conjunction with Marketing and Practice Area teammates.
- Prepare agreements and oversee the creation and approval of construction plans, bid documents, technical specifications and construction cost estimates.
- Analyze complex technical opportunities and devise new or improved techniques, approaches, and alternative solutions.
- Lead, coach, and mentor Team Members to achieve the goals and strategies for the Practice Area. Actively encourage career development, training and career path planning for all of your direct teammates.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
- Licensed Professional Engineer, preferred
- 8+ years of progressive professional experience, including proven independent project management skills on small to mid-size projects and team coaching abilities
- Successful completion of Project Management and Supervisor trainings, or demonstrated equivalent experience
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills
- Solid client service and relationship management experience
- Proficiency with project management tools, budgeting and scheduling
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
Working ConditionsThe assignment may require infrequent evening/weekend work and job site visits outdoors. Candidates should enjoy working in collaborative, fast-paced, and client-driven environment.
Physical RequirementsThe assignment may occasionally require repetitive physical tasks (such as operating a computer), standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time, extended time travelling in a vehicle, and carrying equipment and materials up to 25 pounds.
