The Area Director's role is comprised of but not limited to the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Ensure overall quality of care, supervision, and safety of SAILS Washington's clients.
  • Provide oversight, training, analysis, and leadership to all Residential supervisors on all aspects of facility operations.
  • Work closely with the Program Management team to ensure that the facilities meet all the areas of compliance.
  • Ensure implementation of staff schedules across the program.
  • Payroll review and submission.
  • Approve and sign the Program Manager's mileage forms.
  • Approve and submit Program Manager's PTO and vacations.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with the Client Care Committee to communicate any change and review facilities operations.
  • Provide guidance and direction to House Managers on the management of challenging issues and relations with staff and guardians.
  • Review and follow up on Program Managers & House Managers Weekly Report.
  • Submit a weekly report with the status of each area Washington Residential Director and Executive Director
  • Placement of new hires, interviews, staffing needs, on-site training (if needed), supervising effectiveness of peer coaching.
  • Ensure staff receive initial and continuous training.
  • Cooperate with HR in investigations due to any staff issue/complaint.
  • Attend all PCSP meetings for behavioral/ challenging clients, and any other meeting if required.
  • Review with the behavior team after PBSP meetings regarding challenging/high behavioral clients to be aware of any updates and concerns.
  • Supervisors' performance reviews.
  • Review IRs and keep track of them.
  • Ensure that good quality of clients' activities/outings are planned and regularly scheduled to include special events such as holiday parties, birthdays and community events.
  • Monthly Quick Checks due for each program.
  • Meet with the Compliance team to ensure Quality Assurance of each program is being maintained.
  • Ensure that policies are being followed, clients are receiving necessary services.
  • Ensure client annual plan annual Individual Plan, Positive Behavior Support Plan, Refusal of Services Plans and Restrictive Procedure plans are written within required timelines.
  • Work with Behavior Support Team to ensure behavior data is collected, reviewed, and analyzed every six months to ensure behaviors are being tracked and plans are effectively implemented.
  • Ensure Semi-Annual plan reviews are completed with Program Supervisors and Behavior Team to ensure client goals are achieved.
  • implemented and that progress is being documented.
  • Maintains positive relationships with stakeholders, clients, families, guardians, and other agencies that are involved in clients' care and support.
  • Attending meetings with guardians and case managers to ensure clients' and guardians' concerns are addressed and solutions developed.
  • Ensure maintenance of all quality assurance concerns within the area.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred and/or two years specialized training emphasizing Social Services, and at least three years' experience working within a business, mental health, or social services setting.
  • 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience supervising 5 - 30 employees. Background in running Independent and Supported Living Services.
  • First Aid/CPR and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a Washington Driver's License
  • Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a lifetime background check.
  • Must provide own vehicle (Company vehicle not provided) and auto insurance.
  • Must be willing to cover shifts as needed and be part of on-call rotation.
  • Must be able to obtain an NAR within 90 days of hire.
