Responsibilities Multiple Research Faculty positions are available in cybersecurity, cyber-physical systems security, control and estimation of cyber-physical systems, with specific application to energy delivery systems and autonomous systems. Successful candidates will join a team of researchers at the Center for Advanced Power Systems at Florida State University and work closely with industry collaborators to develop and deliver systems and methods to protect critical infrastructures using cutting-edge Zero-Trust Architectures (ZTA), controls, ML/AI, and optimization. While a strong theoretical background is desired, the position is mainly application-driven with actual product delivery expected to industry partners.
Qualifications - Appli cants must have earned a doctoral degree from an accredited institution in releva nt field or a closely related field and demonstrate strong potential for outstanding research and leadership.
- Applicants with strong mathematical background in control theory, ML/AI, convex optimization, and hands-on experience with one or more of the following application areas (other closely related areas) are encouraged to apply: (1) Power systems modeling and simulation (2) AI/ML and cybersecurity, (3) cyber-physical security (3) multi-agent systems (4) Real-time simulation, HIL, CHIL and PHIL.
- Strong leadership qualities.
- Some experience in writing research proposals and reports.
- Strong foundation in mathematical analysis, physics-based models, optimization techniques, and AI/ML.
- Deep understanding of controls and systems dynamics (power systems/power electronics modeling)
