Renewal Consultant

Warner Pacific- Iowa and Ohio

The Renewal Consultant (Iowa and Ohio Book of Business) plays a critical role in driving Warner Pacific's growth strategy by strengthening group medical case retention across the Iowa/Ohio market. This role focuses on identifying where medical case losses occur, developing strategies to keep business in-house, and partnering closely with Sales Executives to address retention challenges within specific agencies.

This position supports all group cases with 2+ or more enrolled employees, leads a proactive renewal management process, and collaborates with contracted carriers and TPA partners to align shared retention goals and initiatives. The specialist will actively support brokers and clients during key renewal cycles and in special circumstances attend open enrollment meetings.

This position reports directly to the Sales Vice President.

Key Responsibilities

Retention Strategy & Analysis
  • Analyze broker data, feedback, behavior trends to identify and proactively address at-risk accounts.
  • Gather input from Sales staff and leadership to validate findings and ensure alignment.
  • Develop and implement targeted retention strategies and campaigns based on customer feedback and churn analysis.
  • Meeting retention goals based on ongoing analysis and market conditions.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to enhance the broker's experience and deliver actionable insights.

Client & Broker Engagement
  • Execute ongoing communication and engagement strategy with brokers and clients to ensure full value realization of products and services.
  • Attend and support open enrollment meetings as needed to strengthen relationships and assist with retention efforts. (Focus will be on strategic accounts or in special circumstances upon broker request.)
  • Partner with Sales Executives to address agency-specific retention challenges and opportunities.

Renewal Management
  • Create, implement, and manage a proactive renewal process for groups with 2+ enrolled employees.
  • With groups of 2-9 Renewal Consultant will collaborate with the Inside Sales and/or Sales Consultant on the renewal strategy.
  • With group of 10-50 the Renewal Consultant will collaborate more with the Sales Consultant on the renewal strategy.
  • With groups of 51+ the Sales Consultant will develop the Renewal Strategy, and the Renewal Consultant will manage the process and hand back to the Sales Consultant to present to the writing agent.
  • Verify and maintain data accuracy of sold, lost, and retained business in internal systems (e.g., Salesforce, GAIT).

Reporting & Insights
  • Create, maintain, and distribute Renewal, Retention, and Stewardship reports for brokers, carriers, and leadership.
  • Ability to analyze and present data insights to leadership.
  • Develop and review monthly broker stewardship reports with Sales Executives prior to client delivery.
  • Prepare monthly carrier stewardship reports in collaboration with the Sales Vice President.
  • Maintain internal block-of-business reporting in partnership with the Sales Vice President and Regional Vice President.
  • Present regular updates on retention rates, churn, and customer feedback trends.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum of high school diploma, GED, or equivalent (advanced degree preferred).
  • Active Iowa and Ohio Life & Health insurance license required.
  • Preference for an Iowa resident.
  • 3-5 years of experience in sales, health insurance, or data analytics/data mining.
  • Ability to self-start and operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong consultative, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and manage multiple priorities.
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and CRM systems.
  • Ability to attend open enrollment meetings for key accounts and travel throughout the assigned territory.


Compensation
  • Salary Range* - $80,000-$90,000 plus bonus.
  • Actual compensation may vary from posting based on work experience, education and/or skill level.
