Project Unanet Accountant to support our Accounting and Finance Team. The Project Unanet Accountant ensures accurate, compliant, and timely financial and accounting transactions across project control, payroll, accounting, and Unanet. This role supports the integrity of company financials by executing core project accounting activities in alignment with company policies and government contracting requirements.
Location: This position can be performed remotely within the United States and will support Eastern Time working hours.
Compensation Range: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $90,000-$105,000 annually and reflects Kentro's good-faith expectations at the time of posting. Final compensation is determined based on the role's requirements, relevant skills, experience, education, certifications, work location, applicable security clearance requirements, market conditions, internal equity, and contract requirements.

Responsibilities- Execute and review project accounting transactions to support daily project operations.
- Process timecard and labor adjustments in accordance with cost accounting and labor-charging policies.
- Review and validate employee expense reports for proper coding, documentation, and compliance with travel policies.
- Complete cost rate dilution entries and related adjustments as part of payroll close.
- Review and execute charge code authorizations
- Support payroll, accounting, and billing cycles by completing required close activities and clearing outstanding issues.
- Reconcile payroll costs with Unanet and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare all Journal entries for monthly close cycle
- Perform account reconciliations, investigate, and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all cash accounts
- Assist with other ad-hoc as needed to support with Year-end close and Audit activities
- Assist payroll team with employee timesheets follow up to ensure all timesheets are completed accurately and approved on time for payroll processing
- Identify, escalate, and assist in resolving accounting, labor-charging, or compliance issues.
- Assist with time-period closeout by ensuring timecards are complete and submitted in a timely manner.
- Analyze time-charging activities to identify and remediate compliance issues, such as incorrect fringe and overhead labor charging.
Key Stakeholders:- Accounting, Payroll, Project Control, Unanet Administration, and employees/managers across the organization.
Success Measures:- Timely and accurate financial transactions; clean and fully reconciled payroll/Unanet data; well-supported adjustments; and efficient, issue-free payroll, billing, and accounting closes.
Qualifications- Education: Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Government Contracting accounting or Finance
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Unanet accounting system, Microsoft Excel, and Word Document
- Excellent attention to details, analytical skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Communication: Proactive and effective communicator with strong collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience providing cross-functional support across accounting, finance, and payroll
Clearance Requirement:- US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card)
