Full Job Description
Responsibilities: Provide engineering services to maintenance and operating department personnel as required to resolve maintenance, technical, and equipment reliability issues. Establish and maintain safe work practices and safe work environment for coworkers and employees. Ensure that mill rules are enforced and that company policies are followed. Schedule and supervise mill and contract employees as required. Evaluate performance of hourly personnel under their supervision. Ensure that equipment files and database are maintained properly. Understand equipment operation and function as required to determine preventive and predictive maintenance needs. Develop preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance procedures as required to insure equipment availability. Work with peers to effectively maintain equipment to achieve uptime goals as set by the department. Basic Qualifications: BS degree in mechanical or metallurgical engineering with 2-3 years' experience in an industrial manufacturing environment; pulp and paper experience preferred. Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and follow up skills. Demonstrated skills in setting priorities and delegating, analytical problem solving, and facilitating in a team environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Must be able to function and contribute within a team environment. Computer skills required. Must be willing and able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime, as needed. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS • Starting salary range for position: $86,400 - $108,000. • Paid Vacation: Three (3) weeks per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year. • Paid Holidays. • Within the first 30 days of employment, an employee (and their dependents) is eligible to enroll in certain benefit coverages -- medical, dental, and vision - and are automatically enrolled in life, AD&D, and disability coverages. • Upon hire, an employee is automatically enrolled in the 401k plan.
