Full Job Description
The System Reliability Engineer, Sr will support the space program located in Houston, Texas. This position is primarily responsible for the generation and execution of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEAs) and Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) to support the milestone reviews, and Engineering and Safety and Mission Assurance (S&MA) deliverables and analyses.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEAs) and Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) to support the milestone reviews, and Safety and Mission Assurance (S&MA) deliverables and analyses.
  • Evaluate human-rated hardware and software systems for reliability to ensure mission success.
  • Ensure system design compliance with requirements and provide input to program risk assessment and risk management activities.
  • Provide RBD and PRA analyses to determine criteria or adequacy of the final design (e.g., Avionics, Power, Propulsion, Environmental Control and Life Support System [ECLSS], Crew Systems, Payloads, Robotics, Structures and Mechanisms, and Guidance, Navigation, and Control [GNC]).
  • Provide FMEA and RBD for any trade studies to inform or derive design solutions.
  • Identify any single point failures in the design that could affect function or performance of the system.
  • Provide list of potential top risks and collaborate with Engineering and S&MA on their mitigation strategies.
  • Identify any Critical Items in the design and the retention rationale to minimize the risk of inclusion of item.
  • Prepare presentations and participate in Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, and various working groups and safety review meetings.
  • Interface with multiple disciplines, including Systems Safety, Software Safety, Quality Engineering, Flight Operations, Logistics & Maintenance, and Subsystem Engineering personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must have a bachelor's degree in the field of engineering.
  • Must have 10+ years of recent and related work experience.
  • Must have experience in Reliability Engineering related to human spaceflight programs and systems/subsystems.
  • Experience in working with and as part of Program/Project Safety and Mission Assurance workflows and design reviews.
  • Requirements management and development experience, including DOORS and/or CRADL.
  • Ability to interface with customer and program management.


WORK LOCATION:
  • This position is located onsite; some travel may be required.
  • Schedules are subject to change based on the requirements of the position and/or customer needs.


STANDARD BASTION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.

  • Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time) and may require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
  • Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.
