Standard Job DescriptionThe Reliability Engineer will perform a broad range of reliability-engineering and obsolescence activities for the MTADS/MPNVS & FCR programs. The role is team-focused, requiring close collaboration with engineers, suppliers, quality, production, program managers, customers, and customer consultants.
Key Responsibilities- Develop reliability and maintainability predictions using approved prediction methodologies.
- Perform Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) on flight hardware.
- Support design reviews as needed and present reliability results to management and customers.
- Provide Weapons Replaceable Assembly (WRA) and piece-part reliability support, including drawing reviews, repair review boards, and failure review boards.
- Support failure investigation teams and develop reliability / probabilistic assessments based on root-cause analysis.
- Work with suppliers and engineering to track and manage obsolescence of piece parts, conduct hardware redesigns and last-time-buys, and present information to customers and program management.
Team Environment & Interaction- Work within a multidisciplinary team, gathering inputs from other engineers to perform analyses and create presentations/reports.
- Interact regularly with engineers, suppliers, quality personnel, production operations, program managers, customers, and customer consultants.

Job Description:Develops, coordinates and conducts technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments (doe) constructs. Recommends design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability. Compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics; investigates and analyzes relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards. Analyzes preliminary plans and develops reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer and governmental agency reliability objectives. May develop mathematical models to identify units, batches or processes posing excessive failure risks. As necessary, proposes changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability. May determine units and/or batches requiring environmental testing, and specifies minimum number of samples to obtain statistically valid data.
Basic Qualifications• Possess strong computer skills, including in-depth knowledge of MS Office software
• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or related technical field
• Experience with Reliability principles and practices
• Understanding of root cause analysis
• Experience performing basic electrical circuit analysis using schematics to assess the effects of failure modes
• Analytical thinker with a demonstrated ability of solving complex problems, and strict attention to detail; effective analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high accuracy within requested timelines
• Experience evaluating system level impacts from component level data
• Strong technical writing skills for the preparation of plans and reports, and strong verbal communication skills for customer presentations
• Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
Desired Skills• Experience in Reliability, Quality, Systems, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
• Knowledge and experience with probability, statistical concepts, and mathematical modelling
• Reliability prediction experience in accordance with industry standards (e.g. MIL-HDBK-217, empirical test data, etc.)
• Knowledge and experience with probability, statistical concepts, and mathematical modelling
• Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
• Experience with Diminishing Manufacturing Sources & Material Shortages (DMSMS) processes involving engineering integration of obsolescence management.
• Active Secret clearance
Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $58200.00 - $108200.00
