Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Reliability Instrument / PM Engineer to join our Ashland Inc., business at our Calvert City, Ky manufacturing plant. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and Maintenance & Reliability Departments.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Review compliance of ITPM/PdM activities with corporate, regulatory, site and quality requirements, standards and procedures.
- Manage PMs and reporting for level instrumentation calibrations of material storage vessels governed by the 2002 Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) as identified by Ashland finance department.
- Provide recommendations and inclusions for the storeroom inventory to service the Calvert City Plants instrumentation.
- Provide technical engineering support to the hourly craft crews (ISO, ITPM, and Analytical) to correct inspection/calibration procedures, installations, and the improvement of the present programs in place.
- Provide technical support to instrumentation improvement projects involving plant critical process instrumentation.
- Review instrumentation installation drawings, data sheets and specifications, in full compliance with recognized industry standards, safety and quality standards.
- Design, development of new and/or upgrade of present instrumentation including the specification of industrial instrumentation and the material to support installation.
- Develop maintenance procedures and correct calibration frequencies of all ITPM's for all instrumentation, controls, and scales and include in the site CMMS.
- Maintain information and calibrations records for test and measurement equipment for the Instrument/Electrical and Valve Repair shops.
- Approve and / or specify and purchase new and replacement measurement and test equipment for the Instrument/Electrical shop.
- Reviews site MOC's for correct instrumentation and conformance to Ashland's standards.
- Evaluate and implement new instrument technologies.
- Participate in customer and internal Quality and Safety audits.
- Coordinate with contractor on scale inspection frequency, repair and record keeping.
- Perform routine review and update of applicable CCOP/SOP forms.
- Track Calvert City Plant Elevator/Lift maintenance and PM costs. This includes working with KY State elevator Inspectors to maintain the required licensing of plant passenger rated elevators.
- Other Projects within the AI&R Department Team as needed.
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following: - Bachelors of Science in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Ten (10) + years experience in a chemical process plant environment with at least five (5) years in Equipment Reliability.
- Familiarity with electronic and analytical instrumentation used to measure and control flow, temperature, pressure, level and analytical properties of fluids.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, and function as a team player.
The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
- Prior Experience with Maximo CMMS
- Prior Experience with ISO 9001 & 14001 Requirements
