Job Description
The Regulatory Compliance Engineer will report to the Sr Manager, Product Regulatory Compliance and will be responsible for performing evaluation of designs and testing of a diverse portfolio of products to ensure compliance with applicable EMC/RF/Product Safety worldwide regulatory requirements. This includes pre-testing and final certification testing performed in the ADI Global Distribution LLC internal Anechoic Chamber and 3rd party test labs using best engineering practices to achieve compliance. The qualified candidate will apply their EMC/RF/Product Safety certification expertise and knowledge to help ensure ADI Global Distribution LLC products achieve and maintain product compliance through conformance to applicable regulatory standards. A successful individual should use initiative and drive to provide oversight of projects ensuring compliance to all test requirements through expert use of test methods, in addition to, displaying strong attention to quality, detail, velocity, and creativity.
JOB DUTIES:
Work with the engineering team to configure samples for testing, gather documentation (schematics, BOM, block diagram, etc.), send RFQs and POs to test labs
Perform internal EMC & RF testing in the ADI Global Distribution LLC EMC lab
Manage certification schedules with 3rd party labs and internal development teams. In addition to, coordinating EMC/RF/Product Safety certification testing of company products targeted for domestic and international markets
Ensure project schedule is on track and within projected deadlines and relay this information to the VP Engineering
Establish, document, implement and maintain ADI Global Distribution LLC 's regulatory compliance processes to ensure alignment with regulatory standards and internal requirements
Technical Documentation Filing - Write test reports, manage inventory of reports, certificates and technical documents for information traceability and identification purposes
Manage the calibration of all EMC test equipment with traceability
Perform pre-compliance EMC/RF/Product Safety testing per standards such as FCC Part 15B & C, RSS 210, RSS-247, EN 300 328, EN 300 220, EN 300 330, EN 300 440, EN 301 893, EN 55032, EN 55024/EN 61000 series, IEC 62368-1 and IEC 60669 on representative products
Provide expert technical guidance concerning interpretation, understanding, and complying with regulations/ requirements, participate in investigations and root cause analysis of compliance-related events implement/document changes as needed and provide corrective action feedback to project managers and design engineers
Ability to work cross functionally in a dynamic environment with global teams
Manage WiFi, HDMI, BT, Dolby, ZigBee, ZWave, etc. certifications
YOU MUST HAVE:
2+ years of direct experience working in consumer electronics, certifications, product safety or regulatory compliance
Experience working in a product regulatory environment and with the following test methodologies applicable to electronic equipment
