Full Job Description
MSN or Nurse Practitioner to function as our Director of Med/Surg and Observation Services. This role will include clinical, quality and financial oversight along with strategic planning for 54 med/surg beds which includes a Joint Center, Observation services (outpatient), Stroke center, and Telemetry. This person is responsible for most nursing procedures, policies etc. in the organization with the exception of critical care, surgical and ED specific policies. There are approximately 115 direct staff reports, two coordinators reporting directly to the Director and 6 patient care supervisors who will also report to this 24 hour accountability position. The Patient Care Supervisors function as the administrator on call on the night shift and week-ends and will report to this person along with a staffing coordinator. The position is a key leadership position in the organization and reports directly to the Vice President of Patient Care. This is a dynamic organization, although small we are award winning, nationally recognized as leaders through our presentations both at the state and national level and yet still very patient/family centered. Our associates are also our family and are treated as such. Master's Degree in Nursing or Certified Nurse Practitioner required. RN licensure required. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification required. At least three years progressive nursing leadership experience, with at least a year in med/surg.
