Job Summary and Qualifications

This position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza in optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person.

Facilitates the development, implementation and ongoing adherence of sepsis program protocols and therapies. Ensures the protocols and therapies become the standard of care followed within the facility. Collaborates with medical and hospital staff to provide multidisciplinary care to patients with a diagnosis of sepsis. Rounds with physicians with diagnosis of sepsis, reviews clinical data. Provides education and clinical expertise to care team, patients and families. Collaborates with physicians and staff in an effort to decrease mortality and length of stay. Identifies and integrates patient learning needs, abilities and readiness into the Plan of Care. Works in collaboration with the nursing team to develop and implement individualized teaching plans for patients and families in regards of Sepsis diagnosis. Collects and analyzes sepsis program patient data to assist with documentation, clinical care and improved outcomes. Participates in rounds and proactively responds to patient needs to improve patient outcomes and positively impact overall patient experience.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Current CO RN License, ACLS, BCLS
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Three to five years clinical experience
  • Critical thinking, service excellent and good interpersonal communication skills. PC skills. Proficiency in key data entry, word, excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft outlook.
