The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse provides safe, evidence-based, patient-centered nursing care to adult patients with acute and chronic medical conditions. The RN is responsible for comprehensive assessment, development and implementation of individualized plans of care, medication administration, ongoing monitoring, patient and family education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and evaluation of patient outcomes.
The RN practices in accordance with professional nursing standards, organizational policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, and applicable state nursing practice laws.
Education:
Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required according to organizational policy.
Licensure:
Current and unrestricted Registered Professional Nurse license in the state of practice.
Certifications:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit acuity and organizational policy.
Experience:
Previous acute-care or medical-surgical nursing experience preferred. New graduate nurses may be considered for designated residency or orientation programs.
