Full Job Description
Crouse's Surgical Suite/Operating Room (OR) teamis hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care for patients of all ages receiving inpatient or outpatient surgeries and endoscopic procedures with anesthesia. An Operatingroom (OR) nurse provides care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. This includes preoperative assessment, administering medications, setting up the operating room, monitoring vital signs, assisting the surgical team, and providing postoperative care.

Pay Range: $39.78 - $51.50/hour.

up to $10,000 sign-on bonus for experienced RNs

Available Schedule(s):
  • Full time - 8 hour shifts - 7:00am-3:30pm; 11:00am-7:30pm; 3:00pm-11:30pm; 11:00pm-7:30am, with rotation of weekends, holidays and on-call

Registered Nurse (RN) Position Responsibilities:
  • Provides professional judgment and knowledge of roles as it pertains to the Crouse Hospital Professional Nursing Practice Model.
  • Carries out duties and responsibilities per legal requirements under the Registered Nurse Scope of Practice, with emphasis on leading a culture of safe care.
  • Responsible for all activities requiring assessment, planning, diagnosing, evaluating, judgment, problem-solving, creating and implementing the plan of care.
  • Provides appropriate education to patients and families to promote health, facilitate rehabilitation and maintain wellness. Evaluates effectiveness and revises as appropriate.
  • Monitors and evaluates patient responses to treatment/plan of care during hospital stay.
  • Utilizes and engages in evidence-based practice to deliver quality patient care.
  • Demonstrates characteristics and skills that promote critical thinking in clinical problem-solving situations.

Registered Nurse (RN) Position Requirements:
  • Must have a current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing degree program required.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing preferred.
    • For RNs licensed in or after 2017, completion of a Bachelor's of Nursing Degree will be required within 8 years of the date the license was obtained.
  • One (1) year of operating room or Surgical Nursing experience
  • Certification in a specialty area preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
