Registered Nurse (RN) - Multi-Unit Float | Full-Time DaysShift Details
- Full-Time, 3x12 day shift (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday rotation required
- 2 on-call shifts required per 4-week period
Position Overview
- Must be comfortable floating between Med/Surg, ICU, and Emergency Department units across two facilities
- Must be cross-trained for multiple units: Med/Surg, ICU, and ER
Licensure
- Currently licensed by NYS as a registered professional nurse
Required Certifications
- BLS - required through AHA or the RQI system, obtained during clinical orientation
- ACLS - required through AHA or the RQI system, obtained during clinical orientation
- PALS - required through AHA or the RQI system, obtained during clinical orientation
- NIHSS - required
- Basic Coronary Care - required within 6 months of hire
- CPI certification - required within 90 days of hire
Preferred Certifications
- Certification by the Emergency Nurses Association - recommended within 2 years of hire
- TNCC - recommended within 2 years of hire
Required Skills & Qualifications
- NYS RN License and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, or Critical Care units
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS - all through the American Heart Association specifically
- NIHSS certification
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Ability to deal with people in a professional and courteous manner
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Computer literacy
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- Experience with electronic medical records
