Position Summary
Located at 2 Brookline Place, the Outpatient Psychiatry Service provides comprehensive care to children, adolescents, and their families. Our team includes psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, psychologists, social workers, and trainees across disciplines. We are committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based treatment. You will be a valued contributor in a role that integrates clinical support, education, and systems-based practice improvement.

We are seeking an experienced and organized Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team in the Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic at Boston Children's Hospital. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with clinic leadership to support high-quality and family-centered psychiatric care.
Key Responsibilities
  • Managing and triaging patient and caregiver communications, including:
    • Medication refill requests
    • Follow-up scheduling needs
    • Adverse medication events.
  • Providing psychoeducation to patients and families regarding medications, care coordination, and treatment plans.
  • Serving as a clinical liaison and operational partner to the Medical Director.
  • Coordinating and documenting communications with internal and external providers.
  • Supporting prior authorization requests and manage pharmacy interactions efficiently.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to clinic workflow enhancements.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and promoting clear clinical communication across the care team.
  • Contributing to the training and orientation of new clinical staff, as appropriate.
  • Working on site 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Experience:
  • Prior experience as a psychiatric nurse required.
  • Prefer 3 years of psychiatric nursing experience, preferably including pediatric or adolescent mental health.
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership, time management, and care coordination.
  • Experience with Epic, including medication refill processes, in-basket management, and use of smart phrases preferred.
  • Familiarity with prior authorization platforms such as CoverMyMeds, and the ability to navigate insurance formularies preferred.

Licensure/Certifications
  • Current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse (RN)
