Job Description

As Nurse Manager, L&D, you will play a vital role in shaping exceptional patient experiences by leading and managing nursing operations in the Labor and Delivery Unit. You will utilize evidence-based practices, innovative care strategies, and leadership skills to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Labor and Delivery unit

Ensure high standards of patient care and compliance with safety protocols

Supervise, evaluate, and develop nursing staff performance

Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and nursing schools to promote best practices

Manage staff scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation

Implement strategies for quality improvement and patient satisfaction

Support staff education, mentoring, and professional development

Address and resolve operational or clinical challenges promptly

Qualifications & Requirements:

Current and active RN License in the state of Alabama (or eligibility for licensure)

Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certification required

BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required

Minimum 4 years of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery

Previous leadership or charge nurse experience preferred

Strong communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
