Full Job Description
Registered Nurse - Full Time and Part Time shifts available:

12 hour shifts

7am-7pm

7pm-7am

PRN - Day and night - 12 hour shifts available

Registered Nurse ICU - Pay Range for RN's: $32.03 to $48.30, depending on experience .

Job Description: Registered Nurses in SCH's ICU Department are responsible for direct and indirect nursing care and the directing of other nursing care providers such as CNAs and PCTs.

Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an approved diploma, associate or bachelor nursing program.

Experience: Critical Care experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification:
  • BLS certification to be obtained within first month of employment
  • Current Georgia License as a Registered Nurse
  • ACLS certification within six months of employment or first available class
  • Critical Care experience preferred
  • Physical and mental health sufficient to meet the demands of the job


Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Closely monitors cardiac monitors and documents accordingly.
  • Maintains and monitors all hemodynamic monitoring lines.
  • Monitors all hemodynamic data and intervenes appropriately.
  • Equipment Competency:
    • Cardiac monitors, External pacer/defibrillator, Ventilators, Bispectral-index (BIS), Temporary transvenous pacemaker, CARE team monitor, Medi-therm III hypo/hyperthermia unit.
  • Demonstrates ability to assist with specific procedures:
    • Transvenous pacer insertion, Arterial line placement, Elective Cardioversion, Performs Moderate Sedation according to policy and evidence-based practice.
  • Acts as a CARE team member:
  • Responds to bedside within 15 minutes of initial call.
  • Performs rapid clinical assessment.
  • Implements appropriate clinical interventions based on protocol.
  • Interacts with other staff in a positive manner.
  • Completes appropriate documentation and critique upon completion of CARE call.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions
  • May need to sit for up to 2-6 hours at a time
  • Physically demanding, high-stress environment
  • May be up walking on feet up to 8 hours per day
  • Must be able to push computer on wheels for beside registration
  • Have near normal hearing - able to hear alarms/telephone/normal speaking voice/ webinars
  • Have near normal vision - clarity of vision (both near and far) either corrected on non-corrected, ability to distinguish colors
  • Have good manual dexterity and eye-hand-foot coordination
  • Standing - continuously within the shift (67-100%)
  • Walking - continuously within the shift (67-100%)
  • Climbing - occasionally within the shift (1-33%)
  • Bending/stooping - frequently within the shift (34-66%)
  • Twist at the waist - occasionally with the shift (1-33%)
  • Pushing/pulling - frequently within the shift (34-66%)
  • Lift/carry - 20lbs with assistance - occasionally within the shift (1-33%)
  • Reaching above the shoulders - frequently within the shift (34-67%)
